Charitable cash donations aside, do you personally know anyone who's volunteered to provide direct support services in Ukraine?

Not in Ukraine, but my AirBnb is open to refugees.
A friend of mine’s granddaughter married a seemingly wonderful man. When they learned that they couldn’t have children of their own, he worked to adopt 6 physically & emotionally challenged children. When the Ukraine crisis arose, he flew to Poland & spends his days standing at the border waiting for the mothers who are bringing their children to safety & greets each child with open arms giving them a HUGE bear hug to try & let them know that everything will be OK!!! Many of the mothers are then choosing to leave their children behind & returning home in order to help defeat the Russian army.
He now has several children living with him until they can be reunited with their own families. He says that the worst that will happen to them is that he & his wife will expand their family a little more, but he’s looking forward to seeing parents & children reunited once again!!!
Nope. Know nobody who gave money, neither.
