Do you think I probably didn't get the job?

Asked by Cindy1302 (806points) March 30th, 2022

I had an interview yesterday for a cleaning job. It went well. They said that they look forward to having me on board and that they would need to set up an appointment for me to come to the office and fill out the background forms. I can’t just go to the office on my own, because I have no idea where It is so I was just gonna wait on them to call or email me. The interview was at 1:30pm yesterday. I haven’t heard anything from them. If they were looking forward to having me on board then surely I would have heard something from them by now, right? Every job I’ve had, they offered me the job as soon as the interview was over.

it sounds like that was a job offer and they just want you to fill out the forms. Why not call them ad ask when and where they want you to come?

I don’t think you were fired because you don’t know where the interview was. They should probably get the email soon and tell you where it is and give you directions to the next one.

Life is tough. Be watching the classifieds just in case.

Why don’t you just call them?

From your info, it sounds like you got the job. Maybe it takes them a bit of time to do their required “new hire” setup. Or, maybe they want to see if you are really interested in the job. If they haven’t called by tomorrow afternoon, I’d give them a call and ask when you need to do your paperwork and where you need to go. Once you have the address, go to google maps and put in the address they give you, click directions to be able to add your address so you can get driving directions to the place. Don’t lose this job because you don’t know where their office is located

I just don’t want to pester them.

A follow up call is fine; just not too many of them.

Do you want the job or not??? I doubt that showing interest in working for them will be considered pestering them. They made their offer on Tuesday, you’ve heard nothing by Thursday, it’s NOT pestering…it asking when do I start!!! Anyway, your file may be sitting on some clerk’s desk who happened to go home sick and nobody is filling in for her.

@Cindy1302 Don’t worry about pestering them. Do you want the job? Don’t worry about calling them and them getting upset. They’ll be happy to help you and hire you.

Did you take the test and get the job, @Cindy1302?
