How do I scale a digital image to the desired physical size (details inside)

Asked by Mimishu1995 (23794points) April 9th, 2022

My workplace recently changed a new locker shelf. The new shelf is much spacier than the old one, and the door is also transparent. This means that everyone can see what is inside the lockers of everyone.

A friend of mine suggested that I should put up some of my own artwork in the locker as a way to decorate my locker and give students a positive impression :P I think that is a good idea, and I’m thinking of drawing a picture for that, or maybe get a picture I’ve already drawn. The problem is that I don’t know how to scale the picture so that it would fit the space I intend it to. I don’t know how to make sure the picture fit when printed. I’m afraid it will be too small or too big. How can I scale my picture before I print?

Put it in Paint or Word.

Try lunapic.com
its free and it has tools to reconfigure size and resolution. amoung other useful tools.
Best to save a copy of the original first then use that a copy to try resizinging it.
I would measure the size that is required and then resize the image and using a tape measure ..physically digitalize the image smaller until it fits ( measure the screen image with measuring tape) . Download and print out a perfet fit.

Do you have access to the school’s copier?
The good ones usually have an enlarge/reduce function and the copies look very good.

@LuckyGuy I don’t have access to the copier. And even if I do it cannot print in color, which is what I want. I will try @Inspired_2write‘s website. But first I need to think of what to draw :P
