What impact will helium shortages have on us?

Not just us individually, but also on whatever services, research, etc. rely on it?

Are there any frivolous uses of He that are expendable?

Will pillow-humper Mike Lindell get trapped in a helium-filled chamber, and still do his own commercials after he’s rescued? ;)

I did a quick search and found an article that listed a few uses. MRI Machines, the manufacturing of fiber optic cables, manufacturing of semiconductor and other electronic parts, used to purge the fuel tanks for space launches, it has to be used for nuclear fusion research and as a cooling medium for particle colliders.

Well, balloons could certainly be curtailed and the world would survive.

If we ever manage to master and regulate controlled fusion, my guess is that we would devise a method of “manufacturing” all the hydrogen and helium we need.
