2010 Ford Taurus SHO in Ruby Red with 20 inch wheels. One of 1100 made in that color for model year 2010. Ford only made 7200 of the SHO in all colors that year. V-6 with twin turbochargers. 365 horsepower and All Wheel Drive. Beats a drag race prepped, Mustang Cobra Jet from 1970, in a quarter mile race and it gets 28 mpg on highway.
I have a Volvo 2008 Cross-Country wagon and a 2013 Mini Cooper red roadster
I have a 1998 Toyota Avalon with less than 50,000 miles on it; my kids inherited it from their grandmother but for insurance reasons it is in my name.
I also hava a 2021 Honda CRV Hybrid, with which I am very happy.
63 Plymouth Valiant, that lasted 2 weeks.
68 Ford Mustang, that I had to give back to the co-signer when I left Las Vegas
56 Pontiac that the parents of a friend gave me (once I got the bugs worked out of it, was a really nice car)
66 Chevy Caprice station wagon that I paid $100 for
62 Chevy pick-up
69 Chevy pick-up that I owned for 26 years
67 Pontiac GTO that I never drove, bought it for $20, sold it for $100
76 Chevy Impala
66 Pontiac Catalina
91 Nissan pick-up that my dad bought new, I still have it.
97 Nissan pick-up that was a piece of crap and the engine crapped out after 4 years, I scrapped it and went back to driving the 91 Nissan, which has about 300,000 miles.
I do not have one, never had one, probably never will. I do not even have a license. I take the train, the tram, and the bus almost everywhere. The rest I walk.
I have a 2007 Honda Civic. I bought it used in 2015. I am the second owner. I had to replace the starter, but otherwise I’ve only needed to do regular maintenance. It’s an excellent car. It has 116,000 miles on it, and I hope it lasts another 150,000.
@Hawaii_Jake
I have a 1997 Civic EX that I bought new.
My experience with it has been basically the same as yours.
I’ve thre vehicle that had over 300,000 miles:
a 1972 Ford F-100 with 300 cubic inch 6, 3 speed on the floor. I was the third owner, first one was a motorcycle shop in Tewksbury, MA that made many trips to deliver custom motorcycles in Chicago and other cities, sometimes a couple times a month. Bought with estimated 285,000 miles, drove it for 25,000 more. Sold it for what I bought it for . . . .
a Mitsubishi Montero SUV bought with 38,000 miles. Had to get a rebuilt engine at 196,000. Drove until it threw a rod a 385,896 miles
a Subaru bought new in 1993, traded it in at 315,000 mile one exhaust replaced and head bolts tightened at 7,000 miles that was 2011 . Original motor and had to replace odometer & speedometer 6,210 miles (sticker on door jam).
66 Impala SS Convertible (sold to a relative)
67 Mustang (Still Own)
72 Camaro Z28 (Still Own)
75 Jeep CJ5 (Still Own)
85 Saab 99 (donated)
92 Nissan 300ZX (Sold Recently)
98 Jeep Grand Cherokee (donated still running at 385,000 miles)
2006 Mercedes E-Class (sold – was eating my lunch)
2010 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon (Still Own)
2022 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon (Still Own)
Sorry I have only owned 4X4 pickup trucks.
1995 Renault 21
1997 Vauxhall Astra
2000 Mini
I haven’t owned a car in the last 20 years. I get where I need to go by train, bus, bicycle or on foot.
69 Firebird. My first car and first love.
72 MGB. Drove all the way from WV to OK and back by myself at age 19. Good times!
Various Honda Accords since then.
72 Ford Escort
86 Mazda 626 Coupe GLX
89 Alfa Romeo 33 1.7QV
Ever since 2000 I move by train, tram, bus, bicycle, feet, or borrowed car (if need be).
Currently a 2014 Ford Edge. I love it.
2008 Mazda 6—my first, great car, zoom zoom!
2013 Mercedes Benz C200.
2015 Mustang—without a doubt my favorite car I’ve owned. Not that practical for a city, though.
2018 Mercedes Benz C200. For some reason it didn’t feel as nice as the 2013?
2016 Mazda CX 5. Used to be my wife’s, got it after we bought a Volvo for her and the kid. My current car, in theory, though since I still work from home, I rarely use it.
It was going to be my “turn” to change cars, but the missus “suggested” we get a minivan instead, so we’re getting a Chrysler Pacifica (at some point… 2022 models haven’t arrived in Mexico yet), When we do, I will inherit:
2019 Volvo XC 60—An amazing SUV, fun to drive, gorgeous Nappa seats, luxurious feel but not as showy as a Mercedes, BMW or Audi.
When I trade it, next year or in 2024, I will probably go for an Audi, the S5 Sportback, though I haven’t made up my mind, yet.
I came into some money and that was my only big splurge. Got word that my oldest granddaughter was selling cars in a nearby town. We went right over and bought the Edge from her. Paid cash.
My parents had a beat up 1982 Buick Skylark that their mechanic told them was unsafe to drive. So, of course, they gave it to me (without telling me that little detail). This was my first car. It was a death trap (no working wipers, driver’s door fused shut, held together with duct tape), but it got me through college. It died on the side of the highway the day of my graduation. I left it there and walked home.
Then, I saved up and bought a new 1994 Honda Civic. First and only time I bought a brand new car. Lasted over 10 years and 200K miles.
Now, in the past 10 years, I’ve been through three Hyundais (used, leased).
@cookieman
I know littering is common, but come on.
My cars?
The bank and I argue over that a lot… but I’m not bitter, honest.
I haven’t had that many because I’m still young(ish), and cheap. 1st – My grandma’s ‘95 Toyota Avalon, partly bought with summer job money right after I got my license. 2nd – 2008 Chevy Camaro SS, graduation gift that I drove for 6 years until I rolled it into a ditch to avoid a deer. No. 3 – 2015 Toyota Tacoma TRD, my current tomboy ride.
Not sure what this says about my carbon footprint, but at least I eat most of the animals I run over.
My first car was a 1962 Impala.
My second was a 1967 Chevelle Malibu.
My third a 1982 Subaru. It lasted 21 years and 225,000 miles.
My fourth a 1996 Jeep Cherokee. It lasted 225,000 miles.
I had 32 vehicles at work. My last was a 1997 Ford Econoline. I drove it 225,000 miles.
I now have a Saturn Vue. It has 225,000 miles.
I’m nervous.
My wife has had several cars since we married. The absolute worst was a Ford Aerostar. We had it about 120,000 miles. It went through 4 transmissions.

“2008 Chevy Camaro SS, graduation gift that I drove for 6 years until I rolled it into a ditch to avoid a deer.”
I really appreciate and admire you for doing that. :) Two portmanteaus for us: Wildlife overpass.
“Not sure what this says about my carbon footprint….”
No biggie- I’m sure it’s smaller than your pedal footprint, Sasq JK, please don’t dunk or stomp me <cowering under my keyboard>

2015 Toyota Camry XLE Hybrid, bought new. Navy outside, cream leather inside with a sunroof, came off the assembly line on my birthday – must have been fate.
On my cars: you’ll notice the newer they get, the less cool they are.
@filmfann – Saturns are cool, in the same way ugly dogs are. Take it to the vet and keep it alive.
@ragingloli: Silly. I called a tow truck when I got home to go junk it.
@filmfann….we all suck compared to….you. Damn. Your early cars looked like my high school parking lot.
Is this information we should be sharing online? Sometimes “What was your first car?” is a security question.
@raum Good point! :-0 Luckily I didn’t mention my first car, and my credit union doesn’t use security questions anymore. However, I might have some forgotten account that still does.
@raum, and @Brian1946 – HA! I’m way ahead of that. I named my first car after my grandma Bridgette…
Wait.
Okay. I need to make some calls.
Lol!
Same here- the name of the maker of my first car is the same as my mommy’s maiden name. ;p
1953 Plymouth Belvedere station wagon.
