If you are single and traveling, does a king bed make you feel bad?

Someone who bought a three bedroom house to rent out was asking about furnishing it and some people said to put a queen sized bed in the master bedroom, and that is horrible advice in my opinion (there is room for a king) in fact if there is room for a king in a second bedroom I think that’s really great, but often there isn’t. Or, another option in a second bedroom is two long twins that can be separate or pushed together.
More than one person recommended a queen in the master, and one person said it’s because a couple can sleep in a queen, but a single person feels sad and alone in a king.

Up until Covid I travelled about once every six weeks for work, and I always opted for a king. I really dislike rooms with two queens.
I never felt sad and alone in a king any more than I would in a queen. I like sleeping in the middle of a king because I can stretch in any direction.
I’m single and am 6’ 2”. I find a queen to be most adequate because, for the most part, king size is the same length as a queen. I don’t feel sad and alone because I am ALWAYS alone and I don’t have to worry about smacking my mate when I roll over. AND, I have the whole dang bed to myself, which is GREAT!
I prefer a queen bed. A king feels too huge to me and I feel like I’m swallowed up by all the sheets and blankets.
It makes me feel bad – for people who don’t have a king bed :D
I love my king, whether I’m alone on it or not.
No. I love kings and queens no matter what. Unless they are filthy.
^If they are filthy then you are staying at the wrong places.
I have never been bedded by a king.
It doesn’t matter to me. I’m usually tired and fall, asleep quickly. I only ever use half of a double bed anyway.
I personally love king sized beds, and I’ve never felt sad to sleep in one alone. As long as the cost is similar and the bed isn’t taking up so much of the room that there isn’t enough space for other things, I would prefer to stay in a place with a king sized bed.
I’m single, and out of habit I tend to lay on one side of the bed. Whether it’s a queen or a king makes no difference to me.
I sprawl when Rick isn’t with me
I prefer a king when available.
@ragingloli – Kings are easier than you think. Don’t give up.
What a peculiar objection.
I can’t imagine feeling sad and alone in a king size bed. Though I do think it’d be a bit of overkill if it’s just me.
So now we have mattresses not only hurting people’s feelings, but also killing them. Luckily for me, I’ve been sleeping on my couch for quite awhile! ;-o
It’s completely ridiculous to me. When a hotel or rental only has a queen for my husband and me, I’m annoyed. If a hotel room has two queens, we usually sleep separately.
When I’m in my king bed alone, I get to put stuff on the other side of the bed. Lol. Blood pressure gauge, remote for the TV, paperwork I might be working on. I only sleep on one side of the bed, and barely move when I sleep, but I like the big bed.
@Brian1946 I wonder if there being an overkill means there’s also an underkill.
@JLeslie Honestly, I feel like our king bed has just become part of the sisiphean task of laundry. We’re not fancy enough to have a folding area in the laundry room. So we’re usually sleeping with piles of folded and unfolded laundry at the foot of the bed.
@raum That’s a great idea for your next OP. I already have an answer for you.
“Annoyed?” LOL! It’ official! @JLeslie is a Karen!
@Dutchess_III Do you say that because you know I hate that expression?
You have to think 3 dimensionally. You could always stack vertically.
How about a California king bed? they’re the biggest.
Actually, a California king has a slightly smaller surface area than a king mattress. It has 6048 square inches, while a standard king has 6080 square inches.
Yes, it makes me sad for people who have to share a king bed.
