Is it a good sign that I have run out of things to say to a therapist?
Don’t worry I still will be here.

How did you accomplish that?
@HP 13+ years on Fluther. I’m talked out. I have asked Questions (3,097) in this account only.
We must contrive to send you a bill.
@HP I was thinking in career counseling for free for Jellies when get my Bachelors and possibly my masters in counseling.
You’re back in school? If that is the case, you must have plenty to lay on a therapist.
@HP No. I too far in debt for now. After I pay off In 4 or more years I might take a couple of Psychology classes in Red Deer and/or Athabasca university. I have some career counseling books on my Amazon wish list.
Again, if you’re saddled with a huge debt load, you should have plenty to talk about.
@HP I will see. Thanks for keeping me company. I might go to bed soon. I’ve been up all night.
You need to focus on the discussion you might have on the spur of the moment, not what you have itemized/listed as some kind of pre-conceived program.
I see it as a GREAT thing!!! My Q is…have you really run out of things to say…OR…are there things you’d prefer to ask on Fluther instead of asking your therapist??? That might be dangerous!!! LoL
@LadyMarissa I am finally accepting life. I am happy. I am grateful for your help and all of the Jellies on Fluther. Took me 13+ years but I got there.
@RedDeerGuy1 NOBODY is happier nor more proud for you than I am!!! You do realize that we ALL will be keeping an eye on your post therapy progress, don’t you???
@LadyMarissa Thanks. I will add a dedication whenever I write that book I keep talking about.
Talk is just a disturbance on the surface of your mind. When the mind is at peace it becomes a mirror. The flowers in the air and the flowers in the mirror can no longer be distinguished.
Therapy is a big scam for the record. Pseudoscience.
@RedDeerGuy1 I would suggest that it’s simply because you’re satisfied with where you are on your journey right now. Things will come up all of your life and everyone else’s. It’s change.
@smudges I hate to be so negative. My experiences with therapists have been poor and I really have tried to find a good one. Someone close to me who needs help has been repeatedly damaged by CBT. It’s pretty obvious she is worse off now because of it. This and the reproducibility crisis just ads fuel to my frustration that I cannot get this person the right help. My post above is me venting a little. I’m starting to view the whole field with more skepticism. There are a lot of therapists out there who are more like chiropractors. There are others who just want you to come back to the next appointment and have little if any interest in helping their patients.
@RedDeerGuy1 I’m glad things seem to be working for you.
@Blackwater_Park I’m really sorry that your experiences have been negative. I would have been dead at least 30 years ago if it hadn’t been for therapy. I also have a BA in Psychology, so that may have helped me in understanding what various therapies/ therapists have been trying to accomplish with me. I’ve seen probably 30–40 since I was 20 years old, and not all of them have been great, but I can honestly say there have been only 2 that were terrible.
Again, I’m sorry that your experiences have been so negative, but I do understand that it happens.
