Does a seal have any value if it is applied by error?

Asked by RedDeerGuy1 (24945points) June 3rd, 2022

What is the point of a seal if it is not honored?

For example. If a student fails a class and is awarded a certificate with an universities seal; Then they ask for it back an has awarded in error on the file?

The seal is a symbol of an accomplishment or an activity; not the ‘official’ record of the action.

Yes, schools, awarders, etc., can ask for the sealed document to be revoked if the fact behind it is false.
