Are you capable of a full day’s hard labor?
I’m certainly not.
How about you?

Trying to figure out what ‘hard labor’ is.
I sit at a desk each day, but I have to think about budgets and personnel and workflow and production. Is that hard labor?
Or do you mean physical labor, like bricklaying or concrete pouring or something like that?
What about soccer players – it’s only a 90-minute game, but they work up a sweat.
What is hard labor?

Yes.
But they may take a few years off my sentence for good behavior.
If you mean physical labor, yes — but not nearly as well as I used to. I’m good on strength at age 50, but stamina isn’t quite the same as when I was 25.
I used to be able to work ten hours with maybe one break. Now, it’s more like six hours with multiple breaks.
If I had to go out and dig ditches or pull weeds all day or clear logs out of a forest or lift boxes of cans or other heavy stuff, yes, I am incapable.
I can sit at a computer and type about 90 words per minute, make Excel sheets and other clerical tasks, but heavy labor, no.
Not with my knees getting so bad, I can’t stand for more than 20 minutes these days ,and have a hard time walking more than a 100 metres.
A few years ago, at age 58, I started a job delivering beer and wine. It is a VERY physical job. I thought I was in good shape when I started but my body told me otherwise very quickly. After a month I was in much better shape and did that job for a couple years before moving up into a management position.
Yes, I think so. I’m 30, but I’m still a strapping youth. :)
I spent a few days’ hard labor recently getting my grandparents’ house ready to sell so they could move into a condo. It was a lot of work out in the yard too, and there was some soreness afterwards but I did it and felt quite accomplished.
I work 10 hour shifts in an Amazon warehouse, walking 15 to 20 miles. I do a lot of lifting and handling of boxes and supplies.
I’m 59, been working the job for 18 months, and it might have saved my life.
I had a heart attack a couple of years ago. 6 months later I got the Amazon job, thinking it would be a weekend gig while I looked for a “real” job.
But the exercise has been a HUGE bonus and it keeps me there. I weigh 30 pounds less than two years ago. The strength training of a normal day’s work has greatly reduced my knee, foot and hand arthritis problems.
Capable yes.
As punishment? I was a bad boy, bring it on.
@Csll_Me_Jay: That’s great!! Good for you.
