The first movie that I can remember seeing in a theater was “Live and Let Die” – a James Bond movie.

Not sure. Might have been a Care Bears movie.

My oldest memory of a movie is Snow White. The Queen’s mirror was scary as hell. The dwarfs were a pleasant relief. I loved the “hi ho, off to work we go” song.

Wikipedia says it was released in 1937 and re-released in 1944, 1952, 1958, 1967, 1975, 1983, 1987 and 1993.

So I was four years old and it was 1967.

I don’t remember, but I do know the best experiences were The Matrix and Fast and Furious.
The parking lot after Fast and Furious was so electrifying.

I think it was Marty, in 1955.

I do know the best experience

Star Wars for me. 1977. The Imperial Destroyer at the beginning keeps filling and filling the screen. Holy crap! It is my answer when people ask why going to the theater is better than watching at home.

101 Dalmations maybe.

At a drive-in just north of Boston
I was 5-years-old. My older cousins took me. We sat on the bridge that overlooked the drive-in and could just hear the audio from the speaker hung on the cars below.

It was either Dumbo or Pinochio back in the early 50s.

I think it was Santa Claus: The Movie.

I don’t recall any before that one.

It was the 1998 movie Madeline, based on the books by Ludwig Bemelmans. I was 7 years old.

The Empire Strikes Back.

The Mummy, 1999. I think I was 7 at that time. I actually don’t remember much of the movies other than an evil guy and lots of bugs.

filmfann's avatar

I am not sure. I think it was The Ten Commandments.

kritiper's avatar

I can’t recall the title but it was back in about 1961, it was in color, and there was this multi headed dragon that the good guys were fighting and chopping heads off of with their swords.

filmfann's avatar

The first I vividly remember is It’s A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World.

My Mom loved the Cinerama movies

RedDeerGuy1's avatar

@Mimishu1995 I remember that bug, scarab beetle, that the mummy chewed on. In his face. Sorry that I couldn’t find a link.

It was the very first time dating and I didn’t think that going to the movies weren’t about the movie then? Geesh, I now know that I was set up, but it failed in whatever HE thought it could become.

Something that you posted in your multi-kilo thread, gives me the impression that you were about 2 years old when Soup2 was released, or did you see it after 1980?

Jons_Blond's avatar

I think it was Popeye with Robin Williams. If not, it was probably E.T. or The Black Stallion.

cookieman's avatar

@Jonsblond: I loved the Black Stallion.

jca2's avatar

I cried like a baby when I watched Black Stallion.

ragingloli's avatar

I, too, love me a black stallion. They are hung like horses.

^ I about spit my coffee out from laughing. :D

RocketGuy's avatar

I may have seen something earlier, but I remember well seeing 2001. That’s because my mom was asking my dad what was going on, and we got shushed by the audience.

@Jonsblond Don’t encourage loli.
