Are you getting 100 to 150 SPAM emails from MAGA and "Stop the Steal" a day ?

Asked by Tropical_Willie (31434points) July 13th, 2022

I’m getting that many “Send money to Trump” emails a day in my SPAM folder, (because I put the domains on the black list for my email) .

Why would I sign up to send a bigot, liar, conman and fraud – - $50 a month forever ?

Not me.
They probably know my politics.

No, but that’s what spam filters are for.

Call_Me_Jay's avatar

I don’t. But it probably takes only one deplorable site copying your email address to make it known throughout their ecosystem.

Also, I think (not sure) that Gmail blocks the worst spam instead of diverting it to the spam folder.

Nope. whew!

Jeruba's avatar

Nope. I’m sure I’m a lost cause on their books.

But that tells us what the MAGA crowd is being bombarded with. And if it didn’t work, the senders wouldn’t bother. With that kind of high-pressure demand assailing them constantly, no wonder so many of them are addled.

No. I think all my Trump spam has dried up somehow, for over a year.

Getting and giving zilch to Trump. Only the thoroughly deluded would respond to a begging letter from a billionaire fraudster.

I received Trump mailings in 2020 with bogus surveys asking for money.
I would send them back without the money but would include an extra sheet of paper folded to a little larger than check size. It was worth the postage to tie them up for a millisecond.

I’m not getting anything.

Nothing although I was getting a number from podunk Dem candidates, some of whom seem to have gotten my cellphone number.

Nope, nothing here.

I get 1 or 2 a day, from either Trump or the vaginal discharge of one of his exes.

Here’s one I got from Ron Deathsantis:

“Have you been to CA lately?”

“Friend,

Over the past three years, we have been called to make choices and answer questions we did not expect.

Questions about how, in a world that seemed frightening and different, we were going to raise our kids, continue to put food on the table, and care for our communities?

And questions that feel further out now like, how does our government interact with its citizenry in a time of crisis?

How is our government — one of the people, by the people, for the people — meant to protect life, but not stifle liberty?

In crisis, do we foster freedom? Or do we force our citizens down?

Well, over the past three years I believe we have had the truth revealed about those two vastly different approaches. Not in an academic textbook or in a theoretical debate, but in the harsh reality of governing during COVID. You could not find two more starkly different examples than the free state of Florida and the woke tyranny of Gavin Newsom’s California.

It isn’t hard to understand why the Governor of California wants to talk about Florida. It’s part of the one topic he tries to focus on: Anything but California.

Let’s take a look at the record of the “liberal elite” in California:

They locked their kids out of public schools at the behest of the teachers’ unions.
They forced small businesses to close with many never to re-open again.
They hobbled law enforcement and allowed drugs and crime to destroy their cities.

Everything on that list is a tragedy, and it’s only made worse by the disregard and disrespect shown by leaders like Gavin Newsom. The idea of locking down your citizens and then darting off to the fanciest restaurant in the state to rub their noses in it.

It’s wrong, it’s disgusting, and it’s no surprise that every day driving around Florida I see more and more California license plates as a result.

In Florida, we didn’t bludgeon our people with government mandates; we lifted people up — protecting their jobs, their businesses, and their kids’ education.

Help us keep Florida free in November >>>

We didn’t lock business owners out of their livelihoods and we didn’t lock people out of their jobs.

In Florida we didn’t turn a blind eye to crime and drugs, we put criminals behind bars, and we kept our streets safe.

Gavin Newsom doesn’t want to talk about California, and I don’t blame him. But the reality is, there are plenty of woke liberal billionaires on Gavin Newsom’s speed dial who do not want to see individual freedom succeed. They don’t want to see it succeed in Florida or anywhere else.

Because if it succeeds, it shows everyone that the top down nanny-state tyranny of California is avoidable — Free people making their own decisions are better off than a locked down citizenry dictated to by elitists.

That’s why I need your help. Gavin Newsom, funded by Hollywood liberals, Big Tech billionaires, and who knows who else is running ads in Florida. I need your help to fight back. On our side are free people who care to stay that way. On their side is everyone who thinks they know better.

DeSantis has chosen to go to war with Disney, which is crazy. That won’t help him in any future campaign.

SnipSnip's avatar

I’ve never received one.

JLeslie's avatar

Not a one.

Tropical_Willie's avatar

I must be collecting them all for you people.

Tropical_Willie's avatar

I’m now up to 225 a a day.

Tropical_Willie's avatar

Just went over 275 SPAMS for “nut job trump” ! And no I’m not sending you $100 A MONTH forever while you are in jail.

LuckyGuy's avatar

Do they really think someone will respond positively to message #112 while ignoring all the others. Why send more than one?
Hmmm…. Unless the sender is a bot that charges a fee for sending emails to validated addressed. In that case – good! It is wasting their money.

Tropical_Willie's avatar

They’re different but most are PUSHING for money for “Stop the Steal” and get back the Congress; the emails are now going to the Spam folder and all I can see is the titles and senders. Yesterday it was crazy.

Entropy's avatar

No. I don’t get any. If you’re getting them, it’s probably because some website you signed up for sold your contact info to them. And they don’t usually buy contact info randomly, the Trump groups probably have reason to think that users of that website would be sympathetic.

What I’m getting alot of is stuff from the ‘Bite Squad’, which seems to be some nutritional or diet program that I’ve never signed up for or heard of.

IMHO, you should never give money to political organizations. But you should definitely not give to Trump based ones, not because of any particular anti-Trump animus, I leave that question separate, but because Trump has been pocketing his donations to things like his legal defense fund for the ‘steal’ and the like. This is his moneymaking scam. He doesn’t give a crap about his supporters, their ideology, or the country. This is his way of staying afloat a little longer after losing the income stream from the Apprentice, which was far and away his largest source of income for more than a decade.

@Entropy It has stopped in the last week.
