Ages of the people going to the party range between 25–75, so I’m thinking of a good mix of old and new songs.

“So Long It’s Been Good to Know Ya” by the Weavers.
Where are they leaving from and where are they going to?
Also, hard to go wrong with R.E.M.‘s “It’s The End Of The World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine).”
Not really looking for specific “going away” songs. Just a fun, easygoing playlist in general.
First song that comes to mind is “Should I Stay Or Should I Go” by The Clash. :P
@rockfan a playlist is individual songs you throw together. You might be able to go to Pandora and put in “going away” as a search and it would pick for you. Otherwise you will get a whole lot of individual song selections. But it also depends on who is leaving and why. Here are mine:
Come Fly With Me – Frank Sinatra
Goodbye Stranger – Supertramp
You’ve Got a Friend – James Taylor (or Carole King)
Drinking my Baby Goodbye – Charlie Daniels
Take me Home – John Denver
You’re My Best Friend – Queen
If it is for a retirement or something like that:
Another One Bites the Dust – Queen
Up, Up and Away – the Fifth Dimension
I guess nobody read your second post about not really looking for “going away” songs. I didn’t either in my first post.
For an easy, pleasant playlist, I would go with some James Taylor, maybe Carole King, Mark Knopfler. the Beatles, Eric Clapton (acoustic), etc.
