Pathetic attempt to use this situation for publicity. No, of course it will not help in any way.
Oh well, she can fall back on her back up weapon…sex.
I haven’t heard anything about her ceasing to perform “Love Is A Battlefield”.
I think we all use the tools we have at hand and this is one of her ways to make a statement.
I thought it was sexual innuendo.
It’s showing that people have awareness and make an effort.
Just like when a racist guy from Arkansas decides to stop being racist once he sees an interracial baby in his family.
It’s almost like people are capable of changing in a good way. Super crazy notion, I know.
Well, it made me laugh and that made me feel better, so can’t say it did nothing. :P
Since it didn’t provoke me to go out & buy a gun, I don’t think it’s going to affect anything. As a matter of fact, I hadn’t ever equated the song to a gun until now. I thought she had died, so maybe she’s trying to prove that she is still relevant!!!
I thought Pat Benatar died 10 years ago.
This decision is utterly meaningless.
No. Rock and roll (with Pat Benatar) will live forever.
Not that it will help on a wide scale, but like @janbb says, we do what we can with what we have at our disposal, and like @Blackberry says, it shows an awareness and a willingness to put forth some effort.
And like I say, a grain of sand is teeny tiny and doesn’t amount to much, but without quadrillions of them, we’d have no beaches. We have to start somewhere, even if it’s small. I’m so tired of the ‘why bother, it won’t do any good’ attitude. Of course if no one bothers nothing will change!
It may help her.
And I think that’s the point. Regardless of the politics she probably feels personally uncomfortable with the lyric.
That’s great, it was an awful song anyway.
Maybe the war in Ukraine would end if only The Gap Band would stop playing You dropped the bomb on me.
People under the age of 35: “Who the f*** is Pat Benatar?”
She’s an angry woman who sings.
