According to this article, today is the day when humans have used up “all that ecosystems can regenerate in one year”, according to the Global Footprint Network and WWF. Can we continue to operate on an ecological deficit?

This sounds like a bullshit declaration by some groups with a definite axe to grind. They choose an articial yardstick that no one has ever heard of, and make some alarmists statements for no decent reason.

One of the more bogus and intellectually dishonest campaigns I have seen in a while. (I checked the date of publication – this is more like an April Fools Day publication than something to take seriously.
