Ones that have a stand-alone story? I keep coming back to a few of my favorites and wondering if there are others I missed. One favorite is that vampire episode that was suspenseful and creepy. The writing, with two differing viewpoints between Mulder and Scully was utilized to inject humor and it was quite entertaining.
Thanks jellies!

Well, there was the one with the cow…an X-Files self-parody. I don’t know how I could ever identify any in a recognizable way that would enable you to find them.
A couple of years ago, my husband and I started (re)watching them on some streaming service, right from season 1. I never saw the early seasons before. They were amazingly formulaic and repetitive. If I were going to go on with them, I’d skip the first few seasons. They did get better.
And at the end of the series, they really jumped the shark, if I recall.
So I’d just say pick someplace in the middle, season 4 or 5, and dip in anywhere. And then stop while it’s still good.
^^Just might try that. Thank you!
I tend to prefer the well-done funny ones. I remember liking the “cow one” Jeruba mentioned. The one that comes immediately to mind is “Je Souhaite” (Episode aired May 14, 2000).
^^Thanks. Will watch them soon.
I can’t seem to locate the cow episode. Just saw the Je Souhaite one and it was really good
^^Thanks! I think Bad Blood is the one I mentioned as having a vampire, which is one of my favorite episodes.
