Will you tell me something great that happened to you today (new iteration)?

(Back by a request from a gelatinous friend.)
While we’re all going through some hard times, let’s see if we can lighten the load a bit by sharing some of the events, large and small, that enriched our days.
It could be something as small as having eaten a perfect piece of toast (one of my major pleasures) or as big as dropping a kid off for their first day of college.
Let’s pause for a bit and share some joy.

+1points for visiting two days in a row!
Wife requested Veal for dinner, two different supermarkets !
SCORED loin chops. Will be with capers, sliced lemons and loads of butter.
Thanks, @janbb!
My daughter and I are engaged in a silly activity we call Radcliffest 2022, which is finding silly movies with Daniel Radcliffe to enjoy that are not Harry Potter. Next up: Victor Frankenstein.
I had leftover ginger beef and broccoli and finished with a slice of cherry pie and two glasses of milk.
I threw a disc without pain.
The antidote to my depression is to throw myself into preparations for coming out of drag retirement. I retired 7 years ago and gave all my wigs and gowns to a burlesque performer. She kept them all and sent them back at my request. They came in the mail today.
I rushed to Target and bought wig shampoo and carefully washed them. They are now hanging in the shower drying.
I cannot describe how good it feels to know I’m going to perform again.
A friend told me I am one of the most important person in her life. I don’t think I have done anything big for her. I didn’t give her any expensive gift. I didn’t take her to any grand trip. I didn’t even do anything that one would consider life-changing. All I did was playing games with her and listen to her rant. But then again she is having some family issue at the moment with no one being able to understand her.
Sometimes all one needs to feel loved is just to have someone be there for them and listen to them.
@Hawaii_Jake: That great! Is a day and venue planned, or is this still early prep?
@Mimishu1995: That’s so nice, but I don’t think anyone here would be surprised to learn how good of a friend you are.
This past week, my wife and I got to spend more time alone than we have in a while. It was fabulous.
@cookieman I’m hoping to perform in October. It’s Pride here that month, but all the queens are busy with Halloween, so it may not happen then.
I’m glad you got some time to be a couple.
@Hawaii_Jake: Nice! Here’s hoping for a Fall debut for you.
Thank you.
I LOVE this question. Something great was simply talking to some very great jellies and feeling a connection with them. And I had the best English muffin! lol
I went to a local festival with a friend, her boyfriend and his granddaughter, then on to a rock concert on the beach where we met up with friends. The weather has cooled down and it was a beautiful evening. Lots of fun.
I made two things today that tasted very good.
The first was blueberry cornbread. I would not have thought of it, but saw a YouTube video and decided to try it.
The other was roasted corn, cherry tomatoes, shredded smoked mozzarella, and scallion salad. I put some fresh oregano and basil on it. It was delicious. I think it would also be good with some roasted jalapenos.
@cookieman thank you. I just try my best to support her when she is in need emotionally. It amazes me that all the texting we did had such a positive impact on her. And it doesn’t cost anything at all.
@cookieman Yeah both and filled with real butter! [yummo] :p
It’s probably not much to anyone else, but my in-laws are recuperating from procedures, so we started taking the big Sunday dinners to them the last two weeks.
My father in law was so excited he ate 3x what he does normally and had a beer. It was so rewarding to see them just relax and enjoy the family.
They didn’t complain the whole time I was helping my mom until she passed, so now it’s their turn to be spoiled.
My $0.01 brush arrived from China. It doesn’t rip my hair out like the $0.50 accountant comb. My hair feels awesome.
I just had a root canal I’ve been trying to avoid but it wasn’t really painful, took only 40 minutes and since they could save the crown, it cost $1,000 less than initially quoted!
I went to a Santana Concert. Carlos is 75 and amazing. Have loved his music since I was a kid sitting in front of my parents HiFi spinning the Woodstock 69 Album.
Danced and sang for 3 hours. Total bliss!
@Forever_Free
I love Santana, but I still haven’t gotten around to seeing him.
We saw a Michelle Branch concert in 2003. I was hoping that he’d show up for Game of Love, but it didn’t happen. :/
I wake up happy each day because I love where I live. Every day is an adventure.
@Brian1946 He should be on your music artist concert bucket list before he is gone.
I also just saw Graham Nash who is 80 and still brought the house down. I saw him many times over the years in different forms but so worth the 4th row prices I paid.
I saw Bonnie Raitt (72) a few months ago. Amazing still
I will be seeing Van Morrison (76) labor day weekend.
Brandie Carlise is next week.
Elton, Steely Dan, Steve Windwood, billy joel was earlier this year.
John Williams 90th Birthday celebration is this weekend at Tanglewood. I will be there.
Absolutely nothing – But it was perfect and beautiful.
I saw a Monarch butterfly flapping around in my backyard. :)
I’d love to get around to planting some of their preferred milkweeds there.
@Brian1946 We planted some last year and they came back this year and the Monarchs love them. Check my avatar :)
@RayaHope
Huh? What’s relevancy of your avatar? ;p
JK!
It’s beautiful! Do multi-colored Monarchs actually exist?
@Brian1946 You’re looking at one ;}
Not really sure but I do see them in orange, yellow, and even blue but maybe those aren’t real Monarchs? idk
I had a wonderful video chat with my French grandsons today. It was such fun!
I bought my good friend a scratch off lottery ticket for her birthday. She won 50.00 and said she will take me out to dinner.
DoorDash added a local big box grocery store to its list to shop from in my local area.
Now I can stay inside more.
I just scored the last pint of peach ice cream for the season from my ice cream parlor.
If you need me, I’ll be at mummnnnffff…...

Preliminary analysis of my recent CAT scan shows that it’s likely I don’t have malignancies in my lungs. We’ll chalk those little masses up to “old dog bumps”.
Feeling pretty chuffed about that!
Another GA if I could for using the word “chuffed!”
@canidmajor I was so busy with the chuffed I forgot to kiss the messenger! Wonderful news!!!
@janbb Hahaha, so chuffed about the “chuffed”?
And I found a can of Spam in my cupboard, which is a secret guilty pleasure of mine, with which to celebrate! Pretty chuffed about that, too!!
I made my own BLT… No tomato, or lettuce. Instead of spending $13.50 and delivery for a club sandwich.
@RedDeerGuy1 Great but I think a BLT without tomato or lettuce is called a bacon sandwich.
@janbb Right. I just made a lettuce bacon burger with mayonnaise and mustard with melted shredded cheese. Was gross. The lettuce was brown and wilted. The bacon was ok but came out of the Kizer bun on first bite.
It was a learning experience. I tried something new . I will try a cheese burger plain next time.
I just got my hair cut off. It was down to my waist and now at my shoulders. Feels so much lighter.
@chyna What a relief that is! I love that feeling!
Huzzah! Reading that news totally made my day! :D
Sending lots of love and air hugs! (Because it’s pretty hot today and I’m sure you don’t want a sweaty hug.)
I found out that If I bend my neck back before standing that I can trigger my dizzy spell, while still in bed. It gets it over with, and can walk normally to the bathroom.
My father visited us this weekend. He lives in central Illinois and we live in Madison, WI. He’s 88, lives alone and rarely has company. He said he feels like he’s just existing and doesn’t have anything to look forward to. He’s still sharp and witty and can get around, though his eyesight is failing. The day will come when he can’t drive.
Long story short, he had so much fun with us this weekend. We took him to Oktoberfest and he danced for the first time in probably a decade. He said it was the best time he’s had in a long time. We have talked him in to moving up here to our neighborhood so we could help him and take him to do things. He fell in love with our city. I couldn’t be happier. I hate the thought of him being alone and depressed.
