What is the difference between the album version and single version in the music Forever in Love by Kenny G?

Asked by yaujj48 (1189points) August 17th, 2022

Apparently there is 2 versions of the music itself and I want to differentiate which one is better. Is it just that the album version is longer than the single or is it something more?

Forever in Love is an instrumental by saxophone player Kenny G that was released as a single in 1993. The song appears on Kenny G’s album Breathless released in 1992, and he both wrote and produced the song.
The single version was the released video as well. I listened to both overlayed on each other. There is some sections at the beginning of the piece that are strethed out in the album version.
Length:
4:58 (Album Version)
4:08 (Single Version)

Also, the single version has a deeper groove.

As a HUGE Kenny G fan & Forever In Love being one of my all time favorites, I took off to Amazon to listen to the single to see IF I could tell the difference. Amazon has about 6 maybe 8 versions of the song, but NONE were the single & ALL were on various albums of Kenny’s. The one on Brazilian Nights was 5:41 in length. According to @Forever_Free the single is only 4:08 in length, so I’m going to guess that there was some editing in time done so radio stations could play it in its entirety. I doubt that you’ll be able to tell any difference between the 2. I listened to BOTH the 4:58 version off Breathless & the 5:41 version off Brazilian Nights & I could NOT detect the difference. So, I’m going to recommend that you listen to the Brazilian Nights version because you get alomst an extra minute of pure delight from that version!!!
