Of your own fingers, which is your favorite? Thumb, forefinger, middle finger, ring finger, or pinkie? And why?

Yes, for the purposes of this question, a thumb is a finger. Fight me.
Bonus points if you also have a favorite finger on a specific hand.
Apologies to any amputees, but you are, of course, welcome to play.
Also, if you have a least favorite finger and would like to rant about it, have at it. This is a safe space for digit love and rage.

I like all five, and want them all to stay just where they are.
My favorite is my ring finger, right hand. The nail on this one is perfect, doesn’t grow wonky and never gives me any trouble.
The ring finger on my left hand is a trouble maker. I fell down an icy stair case a few years ago and stoved that finger. I was wearing a ring at the time but yanked it off immediately. Good thing because it started swelling immediately. It has ached off and on for years and I can’t wear any rings that I was able to previously wear due to the finger being larger now.
@SQUEEKY2 do you only have one hand? I’m so sorry I didn’t know that.
I was talking about each hand singley I didn’t know I had to say all 10 ,I figured people would just know I meant all 10.
It’s not my fault it’s Hillary’s, and Hunter’s fault.
I love all my fingers equally.
Favorite? Can’t say. They each have their use.
I get the most out of my right index finger. My girlfriend does too.
So you are saying that the pinky is a finger?
Thumb. Try to live without it
I love all my fingers equally, and I hope they all feel it equally. I think maybe the pinkies and outer fingers may be most at risk of perhaps feeling a bit overlooked at times, and the pinkies may be a little self-conscious of being smaller and weaker than the others. But they have other jobs, and perhaps get to touch more things overall.
Will everyone please keep it to themselves that I have a favorite? I don’t want any fighting amongst my fingers. Thank you.
As one cuticle said to the other – “Nailed again!”
Middle finger. It gets good use.
My indexes are my favorite. They are used to type on my keyboard.
Well my longest nails are on my index so maybe those two. Although I do like all of them but my ring finger may want a wedding band someday.
On the other hand, I like my pinkies too.
My ring finger on my left hand is my MOSTEST favorite because it’s where I still wear my wedding ring from my dearly departed husband!!! The ring finger on my right hand is a close second because it’s where I wear the Mother’s ring my Grandmother left me when she passed away about 30 years ago. So, I just realized that I have 2 “In Memoriam” fingers!!!
I also appreciate the middle finger on my left hand because that’s my paralyzed hand that seldom moves. When somebody pisses me off, I am still able to extend that finger which nobody ever pays attention too…while at the same time, gives me the same satisfaction as flipping them a bird in a more ladylike fashion!!!
Having one hand that basically doesn’t do much of anything, I truly appreciate anything & everything the fingers (including the thumb) on my right hand does!!!
My ring finger on my left hand. It has a beautiful, sparkly diamond ring on it.
Middle fingers – on both hands, whenever I need to make myself clear.
Because they’re a gift from Gawd.
Peter Pointer edges Tom Thumb by a whisker.
Like parents who say they have no favorite children, I have no favorite fingers. or toes
Great answers everyone! Digit love FTW!
My favorite is my pinky on my left hand. I constantly use it to hang ‘just one more thing’ on it when lugging items from my car to the house — and I’m always amazed how strong it is.
I love this question and your answer, @cookieman. :)
I’d have to go with right thumb. Just because I’d probably miss that one the most if it were gone. Though pinkies are pretty cute even if they’re not the most useful.
My ring fingers are my favourite because they are chill. All my other fingers are either prone to nail inflammation (thumbs), extremely painful in cold water (middle fingers and pointers) or bent like tiny bananas (pinkies).
I guess I like my left thumb okay because it sports a small mole at its base that helps me know which way is left (and up).
You’re as bad as me @longgone! For years I had to wink my right eye to know which way is right!
Wait…how does winking your eye help you remember which is which?
I wonder if being upside-down would have any effect on eye-winking orientation.
It started when I was very little, like 4, and my right eye was the only one I could wink @raum.
Now that’s an answer I certainly wasn’t expecting!
LOL! OK. The back story. I was about 4 and mom left in the doctor’s waiting room while she did what ever. I’ll never forget a doctor, in a long white coat, walking past and and he winked at me and while winking (twice) he made a “click click” sound with his tongue.
So I learned how to wink and make that “click click” sound and practiced incessantly. Dad took a picture of us 3 girls in the bathtub when we we little and in it I’m winking HARD.
