Were you ever staying in a hotel when it had a fire incident or a bomb threat?

Having to evacuate, day or night, with all the other guests? In the snow, in your pajamas? In the parking lot in your gala costume?
What happened?

Fire alarm. I don’t remember if it was a false alarm or it was a very controlled fire? Yes, we evacuated to outside of the hotel and waited for the all clear. It’s why I usually bring decent pajamas when I travel. At home I’ll wear shirts with holes. I don’t remember how long we were outside, but it wasn’t a very long time. I barely remember the whole thing. It wasn’t the middle of the night, but it was late.
It was a fire alarm, I was in my 20s, in a small motel having a romantic interlude with a handsome gentleman of my acquaintance. The timing was atrocious, it was pouring down rain, the intimate garments had to be abandoned in the interests of a speedy evacuation.
The room upstairs was aflame, the fire department came, water damage was extensive, the night wasn’t salvageable.
I used to be a very fun person.
Fire alarm at like 4:30am. Kids weren’t too happy about waking up and trudging down the stairs with everyone else. Oldest grabbed her first edition book written by her favorite author. We sat in the car with the heater on until they gave the all clear.
I think it’s was burned popcorn that set off the alarm. Why is anyone even making popcorn that early in the morning?
I was chased out into the snow in January by a fire alarm in a hotel in Cambridge, Mass., at about midnight. I threw my coat over my nightgown, grabbed purse and shoes, and shivered outside with the other guests for a good half-hour before the all-clear.
Another time, I was in a hotel in, I think, Arizona when an alarm went off mid-evening. The group I was with was having a costume event. We filed out into the parking lot and stood there for what seemed like a long time, but maybe my perceptions were somewhat distorted.
Neither of the incidents came to anything. If there even was a fire, it was put out fast. Still, it was a bit of unexpected excitement.
Yes. A fire alarm went off in a hotel I was staying in in Manhattan. Thankfully it was 9 in the morning and it didn’t take long for it to be communicated that it was a false alarm.
