I’m here. I just returned, two days ago, from a heavenly week in Bethany Beach, DE. During my time away, I neither participated nor lurked. Now, I’m working on clearing my fun-in-the-sun beach brain and returning to normal life.

I’m here in N Cal. We are supposed to be ready for a power outage due to everyone’s A/C usage during our current heat wave. So far so good.

I’d raise my hand to indicate that I’m here. But I think my limbs have melted from the heat wave.

This week alone, 10 people were murdered in Canada & the UK elected a new PM…NOT one word.

@LadyMarissa Those murders up here are freaking horrible done by two brothers, now one of them has been found dead,the other is still on the run.
They also badly injured 19 others so far.

I’m back now. I lost my power for a few days but now I got mu connection back. The storm didn’t do much damage to my area thankfully. There are places which aren’t as lucky unfortunately.

What caused your power outage? A typhoon with a Vietnamese name?

@Brian1946 it was a typhoon, but it doesn’t have a Vietnamese name. Google typhoon Nooru. It was such a big deal here that I received a notification on my phone for latest news about the typhoon by Google.

Does that name have an identifiable nationality?

The reason I’m asking, is that if it does have a nationality, that may be a clue to what weather agency names your storms.

The name seems Japanese, so perhaps its their agency that names them.

Anyway, apparently it was just short of being a Cat 1 phoon, and your area is where it made landfall. Yikes!

@Brian1946 you really made me think about that. I have never paid attention to the storms’ names. I just take things as they come and go ahead. Apparently this typhoon is Korean, and it’s the name of some kind of deer-like animal. That’s all I got from listening to the news.
