When one joins Flooder and they don't select an avatar, does Fluffer automatically assign one?

As well as I can remember, Fluther had some presets from which you could choose until you could get settled in & decide on your own preference. I don’t remember it being that difficult to do. Then again, I do remember accidentally discovering it one day & changed it before I forgot how I got there!!! I think that it was as simple as going to my profile page, right click on the current avatar, click on change avatar, & follow the prompts from there.

I don’t even remember being given a choice of avatar when I first joined. I remember that my default avatar was the yellow jelly. So yeah, the avatar was assigned randomly to you.

Yes apparently you are assigned a dull run of the mill generic thing such as my current avatar, in keeping with theory that beauty is on the inside. Or is the intended metaphor about book judging by the covers?
