Who was or is your childhood hero?
Humor and stories welcome.
Drizzt Do’Urden, from my profile, and avatar, helped me through my teenage years, to tell right from wrong and to not give up.

My grams is my hero from a few years ago. She helped save me and I LOVE her so very much! :)
In real life, my parents and my grandmother.
I was Peter Pan for a while, and Captain X, and my cat, and probably others.
In fiction, there were many, I suppose, though I don’t know that many stand out as something I’d call “my hero”. I wasn’t particularly into fictional “hero” personalities. I liked Tintin a lot, and Emma Peel. Adam West’s Batman was pretty good. I liked Speed Racer and Racer X when I was 4 or 5.
The Lone Ranger and Zorro. Those masked riders had it going on.
I am 75 now and I am sure very few of you will be able to remember my childhood heroes (Lol).
There were not any TV Sci-Fi series on in the 50s, in fact TV was just beginning to take off in the UK.
Because of this I had to rely on comics and radio.
My hero on the radio was Captain ‘Jet’ Morgan played by Andrew Faulds. The series was called Journey Into Space.
My comic heroes were actually two. One was Dan Dare in the Eagle comic and the other was Desperate Dan which was in the comic The Dandy.
The Dandy is still available but it is on available online now.
Jack LaLanne. We only got one channel on our black & white TV when I was a kid. Jack LaLanne was on the the only channel. I use to do the exercises along with Jack LaLanne. I remember that people use to make jokes about him. But he was like the father of the the physical fitness awareness movement. He was also a father figure for me in my young life that I admired.
Mr Peabody and Dudley Do-Right of the Mounties
Hayao Miyazaki
I grew up watching Studio Ghibli films, and the artistry in them is what made me passionate about art and storytelling.
One of them was Dale Robertson from “Tales of Wells Fargo”.
Spider Man
First from The Electric Company, then from the comics.
When I was a little girl I loved Mighty Mouse and Sky King.
Under Dog.
There’s no need to fear, Under Dog is here!
Iron Man – an inventive guy becomes a superhero.
Maybe not exactly childhood hero…but I was a big fan of Encyclopedia Brown and MacGyver.
