It comes on behind The Voice here, so I can’t watch it until 10:00 pm EDT…30 minutes from now. God willing & the crick don’t rise. I’ll be watching it soon!!!
Is it any good? What was the other version like?
@RedDeerGuy1 Sorry all I am very sick and am calling a nurse.
@RedDeerGuy1 ((((HUGGZZZ)))) Get to feeling better & let us know when you get there!!!
@RedDeerGuy1 Please get help NOW we’ll be okay don’t worry about us just get better!
@RayaHope Tonight’s the very first show, so NO idea how good it will be. I loved the original show mainly because Scott Bakula was the star. You might know Scott from Star Trek: Enterprise. He was young & gorgeous back in the day!!! ;-}
My pharmacist recommended ginger tea. Letting it cool now. Watched quantum leap. Was awesome.
@all I am feeling better. Going to bed now.
I have been watching reruns of the original (it’s so good!) for a week and a half in anticipation of the new show which we DVRrd tonight, and will watch tomorrow.
Glad you’re feeling better!
I’m always wary of reboots.
Though I really like Cobra Kai.
Now I’m want to rewatch the old series though!
I do not care for reboots. Anyone remember the MacGyver reboot? Me neither.
I can recommend the new Netflix Anime series “Cyberpunk Edgerunners”.
For when you really want to cry at the end.
^^ I watched the very first MacGyver. Had meant to stream all of them, but found it more than difficult to make it through the first, so STOPPED right there & NEVER looked back!!! The Hawaii 5–0 reboot was boring as well!!!
My Quantum Leap was out of sync, so it didn’t make much sense. Peacock is supposed to be offering it again today, so I’m going to try 1 more time. The action last night looked interesting; but with the voice & sequences totally out of sync, nothing made sense!!!
I watched the new version but undecided as its quite different, lots of new special effects but the characters are unbelievable as they are so young.
It appeals to the younger generation so I assume that is why the young actors involved.
The progression of the scenes are fast paced and loses some of the past versions effect somewhat.
I might watch it next week but the characters in the new version are changed ( Dean Stockwells part as the Hallogram helping Scott Bakula is now a female helping via hallogram the new actor who is far too young to be a scientist or whatever his part is, its unbelievable.
@Inspired_2write The new guy is about the exact same age as the old guy was when the original show first started. This guy just looks like a baby!!! Anyway, they are trying to draw in the younger generation as they hope we old folks will die off & get out of their way.
The reboot is different from the original…other than the main premise. I find the original to be a lot more lighthearted than the reboot. They had the new guy lose his memory during the leap, so he’s not going to be much of a scientist because he doesn’t remember that he is one!!! He also doesn’t remember his gf, so they can reconnect over the run of the show.
I started out comparing the reboot to the original, but quickly started enjoying it as its own entity. I found it to be a good bit better than what I was expecting, so I’ll probably peek again next week!!! I noticed that the new guy is only on for 2 episodes. Can only assume that they noticed that he wasn’t great & are going to be replacing him. His gf & the main boss (plus his assistant) are only on for 4 episodes, so maybe they’ll be doing a major overhaul by October!!!
IF you have access to the Peacock channel, they had it available today & also had most of the original show available. I watched the reboot & was pleasantly surprised to have access to the original all afternoon!!! THANKS to @RedDeerGuy1 I’ve had a most pleasant day!!! :-] Maybe he’ll be kind enough to keep you informed to any actor changes so you’ll know when to revisit.
@LadyMarissa
