I usually delete them one screen at a time but I see there are thousands on both. And I don’t think they’re synched with each other so I need to delete from each device.

I tried using something like “CTRL End” to highlight them all but that didn’t work.
They are synched, so if you delete from your desktop they will be gone from your phone.
I’m not sure but the main question is really how to delete several thousands of emails – let’s say from the desktop.
@elbanditoroso Thanks. That was helpful and it’s doing it now.
In terms of the phone, I did a Select All and it’s now moving them to the trash.
As an aside, you can always archive your Gmail messages instead of deleting them, so you have access to them in the future. I have practiced inbox zero for a long time, but find it very useful to be able to bring up old emails.
I don’t bother. I am pround of my 74,568 unread emails.
@Caravanfan Just sent you all my deleted ones. Have a ball!
To delete thousands of emails from your desktop and iPhone, you can use the following steps:
On your desktop, open the Gmail website and log in to your account.
On the left side of the page, click on the “All Mail” label to view all of your emails.
Use the search bar at the top of the page to search for specific keywords or sender names that are associated with the emails you want to delete. For example, you could search for “newsletter” to find all of the newsletters in your inbox.
Once you have identified the emails you want to delete, click on the checkbox next to each email to select it. Alternatively, you can use the “Select all conversations that match this search” option at the top of the page to select all of the matching emails at once.
Once you have selected the emails you want to delete, click on the “Trash” icon at the top of the page to move the selected emails to the trash.
To delete the emails from your iPhone, you can follow these steps:
On your iPhone, open the Gmail app and log in to your account.
Tap on the “All Mail” label on the left side of the screen to view all of your emails.
Use the search bar at the top of the screen to search for the emails you want to delete.
Once you have identified the emails you want to delete, tap on the checkbox next to each email to select it. Alternatively, you can use the “Select all” option at the top of the screen to select all of the matching emails at once.
Once you have selected the emails you want to delete, tap on the “Trash” icon at the bottom of the screen to move the selected emails to the trash.
Note: Deleting emails from your Gmail account does not permanently remove them from your account. The deleted emails will remain in your Trash folder for 30 days, and you can restore them within that time by moving them back to your inbox. To permanently delete the emails, you will need to go to your Trash folder and delete them again. After 30 days, the emails will be permanently deleted from your account.
