What is the meaning of this dream?
In one of my recent dreams, some guy took my non-stick frying pan, and, to my horror, started vigorously shaving off the non-stick coating with a spoon.
What is your interpretation of this dream?

He’s demasquing you.
Taking down that wall that separates you(r soft side) from us.
It’s about your feelings. You have built up a delicate protective layer between you and the world and the thought of it being removed fills you with horror. It is perhaps significant that it was a guy who was removing the non-stick coating so vigorously.
@rebbel You mean @ragingloli has a soft side? My interpretation, is you’re gonna start going out to eat a lot more.
This is a complicated image. If this were my dream, and as a woman, I would take it to be about letting a man deny and delete my identity (the destructive scraping of the surface) while appearing innocuous and nonthreatening (the spoon).
I have in fact done something like this, to my regret.
The fact that the dream uses kitchen imagery suggests a traditional self-view of a woman. There is also the fact that a skillet is often seen as a weapon in certain (usually humorous) contexts.
There’s also the point that removing a nonstick coating means either (a) that things will now stick or (b) that the pan is now useless and must be discarded. Protection is lost. The coating, meanwhile, is probably toxic if you ingest it.
But this is your dream. Remember that all the characters in a dream are you. Only you can really read your own dream.
The fact that your emotional response was horror is important.
@RayaHope, loli does indeed have a soft side.

As with myself, you are upset that no non-stick pans last very long, and other people, especially, are hard on your pans.
Absolutely nothing. It’s a dream
So you see: If it were @Forever_Free‘s dream, it would mean nothing. If it were mine, it would be something like what I suggested. Being yours, it’s yours to interpret, or not.
I think dreams often point us to things we know but aren’t ready to see, such as sources of anxiety. They’re way more revealing than, say, horoscopes and other games of divination, which I don’t credit at all. I pay attention to my dreams and learn things from them. Others don’t, and that’s entirely up to them.
@Jeruba I’m sure she does….somewhere. It’s kind of hard to tell, she kinda shocks me with her stuff.
I would interpret it as your brain is working out some conflict.
Is someone doing weird passive aggressive shit that’s making things more difficult for you? Some everyday task or obligation?
What kind of horror do you feel?
@ragingloli It means that you are vulnerable, with someone that you have feelings from.
@Jeruba What matters with dreams is if they cause you issues. Then interpretation is important.
Do you get sleep paralysis and night terrors from a dream? Then it truly matters and you should consult a trained Psychologist/Therapist.
I don’t think the dream of the OP would classify as needing interpretation, but that is up to them.
