As I was going through my news feed this morning I came across this article about a sign in the women’s rest room that offers “Angel Shots” for women who are having a bad experience in the bar. A woman would order an “Angel Shot” with the following description:
-NEAT – someone will escort you to your vehicle.
DRESSED – someone will call you an Uber or Lyft.
WITH LIME – we will call the local police.

Never heard of it, but it’s pretty clever as long as the bartender knows what’s being asked for.
Yes, that’s a way for vulnerable women who are on a dangerous date to get help without screaming for help!!! I did know about the “Angel Shot”; however, I hadn’t heard about the 3 specific types of action being requested. That’s ALWAYS good information to have handy when/if needed!!!
Thank you @Strauss!!!
Yes, I’ve read about them. I think it’s a great idea just wonder how widely it is known or used. I would think if it is posted in their bar’s bathroom, the bartenders there would know about it.
Angel Shots have been a somewhat common practice for a good number of years. It became common practice back when young ladies out barhopping would return from the bathroom, take a sip of their drink, & suddenly get lightheaded. They wouldn’t know what was happening to them nor who had done it to them, so it became a safe word for HELP. ALL the bartenders were aware of it & would signal for assistance. Now the use seems to have been expanded. I just wonder how many guys have had to use it???
Yes I have heard of it an similar practices.
Guy’s don’t use that that technique. They just leave out the back door, make you pay, and ghost you.
I actually had heard of this, some years ago, but I’d completely forgotten about it by the time I read this question. It took me a day to remember that I’d heard about it before.
I hadn’t heard of this. It seems more useful and less obvious than my local version. Here, you can ask bartenders “Is Luisa around?” to signal you’re being harassed.
