What's a good (and cheap) time lapse program to link hundreds star pictures into a movie?

Asked by gondwanalon (23200points) October 7th, 2022

Back in October of 2019 I used a GoPro 4 Black camera to take time lapse pictures of the stars from the south rim of the Grand Canyon. See 20 second clip here

I can’t remember what time lapse program I used to like the pictures.

What time lapse program do you use?

FYI: I have an iMac OS Big Sur, Version 11.6.8
Also:
In 3 weeks I will camp inside the Grand Canyon at two locations (Cottonwood Campground & Phantom Ranch). It’s a 2½ day north rim to south rim hike.

The night sky will be moonless and hopefully cloudless with no airplanes. Hoping for something spectacular.

Thanks!

Check Alyn Wallace’s YouTube channel.
He most likely has done a video on it.
I used to know software names for this, but it has totally escaped me, unfortunately.
Another channel is from AstroBackyard.
