How can I get some silverplate replated?

Asked by Jeruba (56105points) October 8th, 2022

I have two venerable spoons from days of yore that I would like to see freshly replated.

Once upon a time, I think this was something you could do at home. Now even a jewelry store can’t help me. Is there any way to get this done reasonably and well?

I found this

I haven’t used it, so I can’t vouch for the quality.

The Society of American Silversmiths may be able to suggest someone who can do the job.

My search engine is full of place that do replating. I imagine you’ll have to ship them somewhere to have it done unless you live in a city where one of these places sits.
