How do I get Adblocker Plus going in my Firefox browser?

Asked by Jeruba (56106points) October 9th, 2022

@LuckyGuy and @LadyMarissa made mention of this in this thread.

I am generally clueless about things like add-ons because I don’t trust any of them until I see a reliable-sounding recommendation. Now I’m interested. What do I have to do?

I have that for Chrome. Why don’t you go to the AdBlocker site by Googling it and it should have instructions for downloading it or setting it up on Firefox?

Here you go:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/adblock-for-firefox/

Oh, thanks. I thought it was something to be found in the Firefox browser. I found some ad-related offerings, but none that went by the name Adblocker Plus.

Some days I’m still just not ready for the twentieth century.

Right click on your tab bar > Menu Bar > Tools > Add-ons and Themes.

Or: Ctrl + Shift + A will take you to that page without clicking on anything.

@Brian1946 is correct. You can get it direct from Mozilla so you don’t have to worry. I’ve had mine for over 10 years. As well as I can remember, when you set it up from Mozilla’s offering, Firefox sets it up for you. You can go into it & tweak it better to your liking after the fact. Then IF you don’t like it, you can disable it through Firefox or uninstall it…whichever you prefer.
