We don’t usually celebrate birthdays here on Fluther so I won’t name names but just want to say that today might be an especially appropriate day to talk about cookies.
What are your favorites? Do you bake or buy them? How many at a time is the right amount to eat?

I think chocolate chip cookies are the best choice for any discerning cookie lover!
Chocolate Chip, every single time. Of course. Birthdays are an especially good time for them!!!
^^ Do you guys like them crispy or chewy? And with or without nuts?
I really love the butter press cookies people make at Christmas.
Cookies are appropriate for all occasions and are especially delicious on birthdays.
I love chocolate chip cookies with nuts and chewy, but I won’t turn down crispy.
My absolute favorite is shortbread. The simpler the recipe the better. Flour, butter, and sugar is all it takes. You can add a pinch of salt to preserve them. I’m drooling thinking about it.
3 cookies is the right amount.
Peanut butter cookies are my favorite, with molasses running them a close second, or maybe tied with snowballs (also called Mexican wedding cookies).
I prefer cookies to cake.
MY favourites are Lyons Viscount Biscuits a British biscuit which consists of a circular base of biscuit, topped with a creamy mint and covered with a layer of smooth milk chocolate. Very moreish as we used to say.
Oatmeal raisin, chocolate chip (chewy), peanut butter (Hersey’s Kiss in middle) and molasses cookies (soft in center) in that order.
These aren’t available any more.
For me, uncooked chocolate chip cookie dough,
I thought the bait would work but apparently not, so:
Happy Birthday Cookieman!!
Happy birthday!!
I just made choc chip oatmeal and raisin oatmeal this weekend. Delicious!
Hey, waitaminute… I love cookies!!
I like most cookies, but my favorite are chocolate chip with walnuts. Preferable dark chocolate chips. Not crispy but not too soft either. Homemade, ‘natch.
And thank you Penguin. It was my birthday yesterday. ((HUGS))
Hau’oli la hanau! Albeit belated.
@cookieman I knew it was yesterday; that’s why the Q was posted! You’re late to your own cookie party! lol
Come to Nj and I’ll bake chocolate chips with walnuts and dark chocolate for you!
My favorite is peanut butter. It goes great with chocolate! :)
Tollhouse chocolate chip, with a bit of walnut, made with real butter, and real almond extract (of course), as in the recipe on the package of the N_ company that is otherwise more evil than sin.
Preferably warm from recent baking, or just eating the dough.
@Zaku Almond extract? I always use vanilla and follow the N_ company’s Toll House cookie recipe.
@janbb I meant vanilla extract, sorry! Hadn’t had enough coffee I guess.

I can not wait to try some edibles, once the government finally legalises Bubatz.
I think I’m too tickled about learning a new word today. Thanks, loli. :P
Home made would have to be chocolate chip, Bakery would have to be white chocolate macadamia nut, store bought would be oreo, and french cream.

My true all-time favorites are oatmeal cookies still warm from the oven, a little bit crisp and a little bit chewy. I started making them with my mother’s recipe when I was 11 or 12.
She used to use margarine, and later on I used one stick of margarine and one of butter, for richness, until the margarine makers ruined their product by increasing the proportion of water. The cookies went flat and fell apart. Now I just stay with butter.
If I’m forced to buy cookies at the grocery store, I’ll go with Pepperidge Farm’s Chessmen.
Anyway, I raised a virtual cookie in your honor, @cookieman. Many happy returns.
Oh, and the answer to how many is four.

Is trafola a cookie? Might be spelled wrong.
Trefoil is the correct spelling. Is a girl scout cookie.
Figured you meant trefoil. But was also kind of hoping that someone makes a cookie that’s fluffy and whimsical like a truffula tree. :)
Oh my, I’m late to the party! But I’d say I like all cookies that are brown and have white toppings on them :)
@Mimishu1995: So, chocolate cookies with white chocolate chips, maybe?
Yeah. Extra sweet :) Go so well with milk :)
Wedding cookies. I make them once a year.
That does not tell me anything about the cookies.
At least with girl scout cookies you know they are made from ground up girls scouts.
Wow @ragingloli I always kinda thought that,is that why they are so tasty ?
Ok. Wedding cookies are made from struessel that you bake. Strussel is to die for which is why I only make it once a year.
Anyway roll the strussel into a ball and make them for 15 or 20 minutes.
Let them cool then roll them in powdered sugar. Eat 3 of them then immediately take the rest to the ladies at the utility office.
Yesterday I went to the cat cafe and ordered a bag of cookies there. I chose the chocolate chip cookies that are black all over. I ate all the cookies so I don’t know what the cats’ reaction to the cookies would be, but they really liked to nibble on the straw of my yogurt glass.
I would never feed them those things though. That would be toxic to them.
@Mimishu1995: Are there little chef cats in the back of the cafe making the cookies?
@cookieman now that I think about it, maybe the cats are the real owners of the cafe and the people are just their slaves…
