Was there a certain specific moment when you just knew your fiancé/fiancée was not for you?

What happened at that moment? What told you this was not the right one?
Did you break off the engagement or go ahead with the wedding? How did that turn out?

I never let things progress that far. Until I met my wife and we just somehow clicked. I only came close one time prior to that, but that situation worked on itself out. Long story. Those things could be hard enough to wiggle out of, even if we weren’t officially engaged.
So there was never a pivotal moment? That’s what I’m after here.
Sometimes something happens, maybe even something small, and the person just knows. Even if it takes a long time to play out, that was unmistakably the moment of decision.
That did not happen for me but there was a specific moment that I knew I would marry him. I said it out loud when I closed the front door. Such a vivid memory. The scenario of the question presents an awkward and hard situation but I would always encourage someone to act on that realization.
