Have you ever lost your apartment due to hospitalization?

Asked by RedDeerGuy1 (24945points) November 30th, 2022

What happens to your apartment/home when you have an extended stay at a hospital?

What would your apartment manager do?

Like chuck ones stuff on the trash after the first missed payment?

Where I live, there are laws the owner has to follow after missed rent. I’m not sure what they are, but they have to give notice of an intent to evict the nonpayer. In the end, yes, they throw away the belongings left behind.

I was evicted while I was in a psych hospital and didn’t have money to pay rent. I was inpatient for 6 weeks not my choice. Luckily I got out within the 30 day period before you’re actually told to “get out now!” so I was able to move my things out.
