How come no one here mentioned Christine Mcvie passed on Nov,30?

Asked by SQUEEKY2 (23426points) December 3rd, 2022

She was one of the lead singers of Fleetwood Mac.
I don’t usually stop and reflect when a celebrity passes, but Fleetwood Mac is one of my all time favorite bands.

I meant to, but I kept getting interrupted…sorry!!! It kind of caught me off guard & it left me feeling really sad. I didn’t have the words to express my emotions at the time.

I know @LadyMarissa only two other celebrities have hit me this way, Betty White love her and everything she did, and Glen Fry of the Eagles.

Ladies and gentlemen, we gather here today to celebrate the life and legacy of Christine Mcvie. She was a true pioneer in the world of music, and her influence can be heard in the work of countless artists to this day.

But let’s not dwell on the sadness of her passing, for Christine would have wanted us to remember her with a smile on our faces and a song in our hearts. So let’s take a moment to reflect on some of the more humorous moments of her life.

For instance, who can forget the time she accidentally dyed her hair green while trying to cover up a bad perm? Or the time she got lost in the backstage maze at Wembley Stadium and ended up performing a duet with the janitor’s mop?

And let’s not forget the legendary pranks she used to play on her bandmates. She once convinced John McVie that he was being stalked by a giant seagull, and she once convinced Stevie Nicks that she had developed the ability to telepathically communicate with squirrels.

But despite all of these light-hearted moments, Christine was a true professional and a gifted musician. She had a unique and captivating voice, and her songwriting was second to none. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her, and her music will live on forever.

So let us raise a glass to Christine Mcvie, the queen of farce and the queen of our hearts. May she rest in peace and continue to make us smile from the great gig in the sky.

I prefer this poem loli. And my guess Squeek is that fluther is populated in large part with boomers which means the world now reasonably expects us to conform to the dictates of senility. Apparently we will not disappoint the world on the matter. Ten years ago, the obit would never have passed without comment here for this length of time.

Ohmigosh! I didn’t know, having skipped the news for several days. Seems like I did hear recently that she was ill, but I can’t be sure.

<sigh> I feel older with each passing musician and actor. I’ll play some Fleetwood and enjoy her life and voice tomorrow.
