Nose blow & check?
Why after we blow our nose do we always open the tissue and look at it? What are we looking for? & why is it accepted? It’s really gross if you think about it. Please don’t tell me I’m the only one who does this.

I check for brains. If none present I can conduct my business. If I see brains, I am heading for the hospital.
Agreed. Same as looking in the toilet after finishing one’s business. Just have to make sure everything looks right. Or at least not too wrong.
I always look. I keep hoping I’ll find a gold coin or something.
Isn’t that always the first questions the doctor asks if there is a problem, “What color is your phlegm? How about your BM?”
I have never had a doctor ask about my phlegm color. Nor the color of my * ahem * BM. Shudder.
I look for too much blood. I want to make sure that I haven’t ruptured a blood vessel, and don’t have a nosebleed going on.
I’m always amazed that a chunk can feel so much larger inside my nose, than it actually is, when it finally “exits”.
@ Sueanne – That may be why I hardly ever go to a doctor…
it’s a really good indicator of impending infections or the state of the one you have. Clear or only slighty colored is fantastico! Green, sticky is infection city.
I never look at mine. Ewie
I had a doctor ask me what color my phlegm was once and i told him “I don’t know, I just swallow it.” he gave me a very strange look. it was funny.
I always look to see if maybe an image of Jesus appears or something.
nothing is like seeing what just came out of you in the form of boogers. i know it seems gross, but inspecting it for crispiness or other particles just makes you rest assured that it’s finally out.
ever see austin powers 3 “goldmember?” with the dutch disco dude who loved gold and peeling skin? yeah, sort of like that feeling.
My mom always asks me if it’s yellowy cos if it is then you’re sick.. or something. I dunno, I can’t help it, I just look!
hey, where’d that pea come from?
Or if you’re a little kid…Oh, THAT’S where that went.
