What are some fruits that get nasty after ripe?
Also the opposite?
Where the fruit tastes great the longest?
:
For example:
Watermelon and avocados taste nasty after a bit.
The opposite is bananas. Where on can make banana bread with overripe bananas.

Over ripe watermelon is nasty.
Pears and plums are better when over ripe.
Seedless red grapes are awful when past their best; they taste foul and poisonous. Strawberries too. Oranges will keep for a good while, and then they grow a horrid green mold.
Apples seem to decline slowly, so you have a pretty good chance of catching them while they’re still decent. And peaches and apricots can be good when they’ve gone a little soft.
As the Grinch reminds us, though, we do want to avoid that “bad banana with the greasy black peel.”
I love bananas just before they’re fully ripe.
I love apricots when they’re past ripe. A small amount of brown is AOK.
Past-ripe blueberries taste like dirt.
Avocado is downright nasty after ripeness.
Banana gets better for a while past peak ripeness, as sugar content increases.
