Do you have weird food preferences?

Asked by RedDeerGuy1 (24892points) December 17th, 2022

For example:

Even though all chef Boyardee are the same (pasta sauce, flakes of beef and different shapes of pasta) I still like ones over the others.

As a child I loved ravioli, and hated beefaroni.

Please share with us your weird food preferences

I don’t think I have any any.
I insist on name brand canned veggies tho. No generic.

I have lots of food preferences and aversions, but of course they are not weird.

I like butter and sour cream on my sweet potatoes

When there is a dish with whole potatoes, I like to smash them into a puree and mix them with the sauce.
I have replaced all the breadcrumbs for Schnitzel with Panko breading. The texture is simply superior.
Sweetpotatoes go straight into the trash. They should be driven extinct. But that is not a weird preference, that is just correct, just, and true.

There is a Puerto Rican dish called Carne Guisada which is basically our style of beef stew usually poured over white rice. It usually has potatoes in it like your typical stew. I like to place them on the side so I can dip them in mayo. My husband thought it was weird till he tried it and now he does the same. As a kid it was the only way I would eat the potato. Now I can eat the potato part fine without the mayo but most times I still go for the mayo because I feel it compliments the flavor. If I add carrots I won’t do it to the carrots or anything else in the dish. Just the potatoes.

Not to me.

I’m a vegetarian. Most of my non-veg friends, relatives, and acquaintances think most of what I eat is “weird”.
