How old is your wrapping paper?

Asked by Hawaii_Jake (37748points) December 21st, 2022

I have a roll that must be at least 4 years old.

How old are your gift bags that get used over and over? I have no clue how old some of these things are.

Oh my gosh! Years! I have some paper that my SIL bought me before she was married to my brother and they’ve been married 21 years. It has Boyd Bears on it and I don’t want to use it.
I also found a bag last year that had a tag on it with my moms name and she’s been gone since 2011.
Some of my bags are way older than that though.
Fun question!

It isn’t nice to ask a wrapping paper its age!

One roll I’d had for three years wrapped its last present yesterday. Older rolls get used up by my kids while I use new paper to wrap stuff.

I have a couple rolls that must be at least 15 years old. And a couple of gift bags that are at least 5 years old.

Mine have not hit their expiration date yet. Still good to go!

I found one yesterday tucked into a closet. It was dusty and boring, and I’ve used gift bags for a least a decade. Back into the closet!!

Ha. I moved some of my gift wrapping paper and accessories with me when I came to California in 1977, and they weren’t new then. I like a lot of variety, so most of the designs get used on only one present in a year. I make all the packages look different.

So I’ve had some of these papers for about 50 years.

I have rolls of Christmas paper under my wardrobe that have lain there for four or five years. I never use gift bags.

I have a roll of blue plaid paper for all occasions that I’ve been working on for… feels like 5 years. Every year I buy some cute xmas paper and I end up finishing with this plaid stuff when i run out. And it never runs out because it was a huge, thick roll of it. But it’s also the lowest quality garbage paper you can imagine. If I look at it funny, it pops holes in it.

I can’t wait until I’m done with this crap.

I’ve got birthday wrapping paper that is 14 years old (wrapped a present for grandson, he just turned 15), Christmas paper 4 years old, just wrapped a present with it, that is sitting behind me.
