Can someone please explain the fruit of the spirit to me?

Asked by RedDeerGuy1 (24946points) January 1st, 2023

Is in general, and I really would appreciate any insight.

I have problems reading long texts, and would prefer a YouTube link or something that is easy reading.

I would also appreciate a link to the Bible verses in the Bible.

Galatians 5:22–26
King James Version

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

24 And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

The bold words are the the Fruits.

openAI: The phrase “fruit of the spirit” refers to the qualities or characteristics that are produced in a person’s life as a result of the Holy Spirit’s presence and work. These qualities are listed in the Bible in Galatians 5:22–23: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.” These qualities are often referred to as the “fruit” because they are the natural outgrowth or result of the Holy Spirit’s work in a person’s life. They are not things that a person can produce on their own, but rather are the result of being transformed by the Spirit and living in obedience to God. When a person is filled with the Holy Spirit and seeks to follow God’s will, the Spirit produces these qualities in their life as evidence of His presence and work.

Don’t overthink it. It’s all mythology.

A former friend turned enemy one day left behind some artifacts for me to find, including a book called myths and folklores because he found out I was into ideas from Hinduism, Buddhism and such.

It was such a gift, if only I could’ve thanked him. Sometimes I go through my old playlist and get nostalgia about reading through that book.

@Entropy Don’t knock anyone’s mythos just because it doesn’t work for you. All mythology is based upon the human experience.

It means that you don’t have an inborn sense of what is right and wrong. You have to follow the words of the Bible and allow the spirit of God to work through you.

It sounds like something like a ghost fart, said in a nice way.
