Do you know anyone who dislikes John Cusack?

My friends and I were trying to think up who would be the least hated celebrity.
Sadly enough, Hollywood has become a hate-fest these days.
I think people enjoy hating celebrities more than they enjoy their work.
Of course, I use work loosely.
Any other suggestions?

Everyone I know loves him.
Is he the only celebrity impervious to this whole culture of hate?
It seems to be the new American passtime.
PS Is it passtime or pass time?
Nope. I loves him!
I really like most Midwestern born, bred and still live here actors, though!
I really like the entire Cusack clan. Bonnie Hunt. Jeff Daniels. Kristen Johnson. Jane Kaczmarek.
But, these aren’t exactly the “top” celeb type actors——why not? I think it’s choice, morals and ethics.
@nimis I always write it as past time
Spatz: Uh…isn’t that when it’s late or something?
Try pastime = hobby. It is past time for me to turn of this machine, anyway. I certainly pass too much time here, no thanks to all of you. ^^
Better Off Dead. great film.
Gross Pointe Blank and High Fidelity were the shit. I will admit not all of his movies are great, but i still think hes a pretty awesome actor.
It’s more I don’t get why people love him and that annoys me because it seems like he’s overrated. He has dopey eyes and just speaks softly. No?
A-ha! Finally, a dissenter.
Do you dislike John Cusack?
Not everyone I talk to loves him per se.
But I don’t know anyone who hates him.
I guess you could say he has dopey eyes but I disagree with the speaks softly. Better off dead, grifters, Conair, high fidelity and more.
I really like john cusac.
When Say Anything came out I had not seen it and I had 7 different people call me and told me to go see it because I was Lloyd Dobler. I was worried. Then I thought, how cool.
Good answer!
Lurve from me.
Though I wonder if that should count because Piven didn’t see Cusack as a celebrity?
Of course, that was never a clause. But I’m curious about how he is perceived.
I have been a Cusack fan (Joan and John) since Sixteen Candles in the ‘80s. I especially love him in The Jack Bull, I cry everything I watch it.
I don’t hate him, but I don’t care for him either. This might be because I have only seen 2 of his movies…Must love dogs and Serendipity (i think he was in that one..yes?)
PnL: Do you dislike him?
Or are you just indifferent?
Wait…you haven’t seen Say Anything?
Anyone who hasn’t seen Say Anything, Better Off Dead, High Fidelity or Grosse Point Blank needs to see them before forming an opinion.
@Bri——Totally agree. Esp w/Gross Pointe Blank!
Or The Grifters, The Road to Wellville, Pushing Tin, Being John Malkovich, I could go on…..
OMG——how could I forget BULLETS OVER BROADWAY????
“Don’t speak! Don’t speak!” Too hilarious.
No I haven’t seen “Say Anything.” Strangely though, I just saw that in the library today and checked it out! So maybe I’ll respond back here AFTER watching that so no one here hates me :P
Aww…we don’t hate you.
We’re just shocked. Terribly shocked.
@PnL, Lloyd rocks! That is maybe the sweetest movie ever! I’ll be waiting for your review. Oh, and JOE LIES!
nice follow tinyfaery!
Lloyd LLoyd, all null and void….
Ok. Just finished watching it (Say Anything) right now. mmm…it was okay. sorry to disappoint
That’s okay. Was kind of expecting that reaction.
Most things that have been hyped up usually fail to impress.
But uh…do you like him more?
Or still kind of indifferent?
I can’t believe no one mentioned Grosse Point Blank.
Still indifferent. Syz has recommended Grosse Point Blank though. So maybe I’ll try that one out.
PnL: Haha…I find the image of you diligently checking out each Cusack movie recommended to be very funny.
Read the eulogies and the obituary about Paul Newman. Talk about modest, self-effacing and extraordinarily generous.
Hmmm…that’s true. Don’t know anyone who dislikes Paul Newman either.
How could you really?
@PnL, I think it’s one of those movies that you have to see as a teenager…and it always remains a great movie.
If I were to see Footloose for the first time now as an adult, I’m pretty sure I would think it was terribly corny. Not the classic that I think of today.
@ syz look up! we did. Gross pointe is too awesome not to!
@PnL Grosse Point Blank is definitely one of his best, second only to High Fidelity
I think I have grown more fond of Lloyd Dobler than John Cusack.
Gad: Not who you are more fond of—if you dislike John Cusack!
@Nimis: Fair enough. Ok, one more Martian Child, Must Love Dogs or Serendipity, and I may begin to dislike John Cusack. There is a shelf life for everyone. See also: Harrison Ford.
John Malkovich is hard to dislike.
