Will you perform an experiment for me? (This is a jumping jack. No fancy workout clothes necessary.)
Go ahead and try it. I’ll wait… Just do a few. 5–10
I noticed that my heels are off the ground the whole time. I am doing it on the balls of my feet and my feet are doing most of the propelling work.
What about you? Are your leg muscles doing most of the jumping?
Have I been doing it wrong?

I forgot to add one detail. I am doing them with either bare feet or socks. I am not wearing any other footwear.
On half-toe (balls of my feet) just like dancing.
My heels never touch the ground. I land on the balls of my feet.
You made me exercise.
Do jumping jacks in a way that is comfortable and not painful. As long as it doesn’t hurt then any unique way that you do them is OK.
Heels never touch the ground. Heck, I’m almost only on my toes. Now where’s that balance beam?
I haven’t done jumping jacks in awhile. My recollection is that I tend to stay up on the balls of my feet while I do because the foot has an elastic quality. If you put it all the way down, you’re losing that potential rebound energy.
Thanks for participating in the experiment! I thought I might have been doing them wrong all these years.
My feet don’t touch the floor.
Heels don’t touch the ground, that would send a painful shock up th legs to the back.
you have balls on your feet? is that not painful?
In the pic her heels aren’t touching, and mine don’t either.
