Normally, I agree with certain film critics, like Roger Ebert, but there are times when I don’t know if we are watching the same film.
Today, I watched “Rules Of The Game”, the pre-war french film that nearly every critic fawns over. I found it shot beautifully, but stupid.
What famously well regarded movies don’t you like?

Titanic
SE7EN
Superman
Avatar – Both of them
The first Avatar. I walked out.
The Banshees of Inisherin. I thought the acting was outstanding, the direction was superb, and the technical aspects were first rate. I hated the story and what happens. I felt sick.
Titanic
Dune (2021)
Top Gun Maverick
Avatar
Most Disney movies.
2001
The Batman
@Hawaii_Jake GMTA – I walked out of both. I was bored with no other movies in the theatre on the most recent. “Let’s make it a super hero movie.” lol
Titanic was pretty terrible, agreed.
I walked out of Men In Black and the second Black Panther, for different reasons.
Frankly the older I get, the predictability of story lines is ruining the experience, especially on re-makes like Maverick.
I don’t like sci-fi and I don’t like Marvel movies. That rules out a lot.
I remember when The English Patient came out, it was a big hit and I thought it was so long and boring.
Lately, I just won’t go see a movie if it doesn’t look like my thing but in the past, if I was with a friend and a movie sucked, I would force myself to go to sleep. Then I’d wake up and voila, the suffering was over.
Citizen Kane. Ugh. Pretentious much?
Star Wars…had to keep asking who was who and why they were doing what they were doing and who were the good/bad guys, never watched any more of them.
Don’t watch superhero movies like Batman, except loved Jessica Jones.
Don’t watch romances unless they sneak it into a dramedy.
Haven’t watched so many movies that people my age have watched: Porky’s, the one with the gopher popping up out of holes on the golf course with that Blues Brother, so many others.
Men in Black, watched the first and that was plenty.
Pretty much anything with Adam Sandler in it.
Pulp Fiction
I had two toddlers when the movie came out. I was in mommy mode. Too violent.
I didn’t like “Unforgiven” although I like Clint Eastwood and Gene Hackman. Everyone seemed to rave over the film but I just didn’t like it. I usually like westerns, but not this one.
A Clockwork Orange
Pulp Fiction
Both Kill Bill movies.
I didn’t care for A Clockwork Orange myself. Saw it years ago and completely forgot about it.
