Is it worth paying Apple ten bucks a month for 2 TB of iCloud storage?

Asked by mazingerz88 (29220points) January 29th, 2023

I am considering paying for this but not forever. What would you suggest I do to back-up the many documents and photos I have without being dependent on a monthly cloud subscription? Thanks so much.

I pay Apple 99 cents a month for iCloud storage- not sure how many gigs that is but I’ve never run out.

$10 per month for 2TB is pricey. You are paying for the simplicity and automation.
You can buy a 2TB USB drive for about $50
Simply get into a routine of baking up your photos and documents to the removable drive.

^^Yes thank you. I don’t know how to really use and take advantage of external hard drives. Have redundant back-up devices. I really should research how and do that instead of paying monthly storage fees.

^^^Its not terribly difficult once you see the process. I will look for a link. Di you have a PC or a MAC available?

^^Oh thank you so much! I have a Macbook.

Not really. Storage, in general is much cheaper than that. You are paying to not have to think about it, which is worth something.

It’s not worth paying Apple for anything.
