It’s Global Movie Day! What films will you indulge in today, to celebrate?
I can’t decide, there are so many choices! Give me some suggestions, please!
Are you going to the theater or hunkering down at home?
Movie snack of choice?
Alone or with buddies? At my house, the pup is fine with anything I choose.

And really, for those who need to declare that they won’t be watching a movie, how dumb to mention it.

I love horror comedies, so I think I might watch “Do Revenge” on Netflix.
I think I’m going to start watching Tar on Prime at home tonight. The Whale is playing at my indie house but I don’t want to see that.

Maybe tonight, I’ll stream the Oscar nominated Cate Blanchette movie “Tar.” It’s a few dollars to rent on Amazon, and I just read a review of it, so that might work.
I tend to gravitate toward documentaries. Last night, I watched a CNN documentary, “American Pain” about two brothers (twins) who opened up pain clinics in Florida, known as “pill mills” and how they were so successful with hundreds of patients per day getting their meds and then everyone who was involved went to jail.
Earlier in the week, I watched a new one “Hatchet Wielding Hitchhiker” on Netflix – another documentary. It’s about a homeless guy who saved a life, and the video went viral, he became very popular because of his positivity and quirkiness, and then his life and situation took a tragic turn.
Not an actual movie. But we are seeing the theatrical production of Mean Girls (based off of the movie) in San Francisco today.
Christmas present to my 13yo from my in-laws. :)
Was planning on looking at Moving this afternoon.
I watched Stigmata in the early hours…..today is basketball, not movies. ;)
Not sure yet but most likely a movie shot in film and a classic. Best way to celebrate this is watching on the big screen a movie shot in film ( not digital cameras ) and projected on the screen using an actual film projector ( rare and a dying if not already dead industry ).
I think I’ll watch The Philadelphia Story on TV.
@mazingerz88 I’m going to see “Now, Voyager” in a movie theater on V-Day.
^^Awesome! And if they’re one of the gallant hold-outs using a film projector well that’s just brilliant!
This morning I watched The Outsiders.
Tonight we will probably watch a Batman movie. We are watching DC heroes this week.
@kruger_d “Boom shakala kala kaboom shakala kala ka boom!”
@filmfann Own a copy of Batman Returns with Keaton but De Vito’s gross Penguin makes me reluctant to do a revisit. Lol
@raum What a fun show! We saw it on Broadway here (NYC) and a few times in local productions. It’s got great music and a good lesson for kids.
I had no idea. I’m currently watching a documentary on that idiot guy who was going to shoot himself into space to prove flat earth. I’ve developed a bit of a fascination with watching debunks and documentaries of stupid people (young-earth creationists especially) and so I’m just RUINING any algorithms that try to recommend me stuff. It’ll take me years to undo the damage. But what can I say, I’m obsessed.
This particular guy seems to simultaneously hold every crazy idea I’ve ever heard. He’s had a go at flat earth, vaccines, evolution, big bang and more…. and I’m only halfway in. He was running the plan for his rocket past some actual knowledgeable people and they brought up some of the materials and risk of fire and his face lit up like “Wait, there’s a fire hazard???”
I feel like he’s definitely playing it up for the camera at times, but other times…it’s like, no…he’s really that stupid. I don’t remember how this incident ended. I remember the guy with the lawnchairs and balloons, but not this guy.
May finally watch that Maverick Top Gun movie, hear Lady Gaga sings in it! LOVE her.
@jca2 It was kind of a perfect choice for a 13yo. A lot of good messages in a pretty fun package.
