Name one selfless thing and one selfish thing you would do if you came into some money?
Any amount of money from $20 in the street to the power ball lotto.
For example:
Selfless:
Give money to the food bank
Selfish:
Eat beef ribs for the rest of your life.

Let’s assume a large influx….millions on a lottery. Selfless – I’d buy an apartment complex and set it up for homeless people to use. Poor people that were trying to get a leg up. Complete with a cafeteria for at least one meal a day.
I’d buy a hidden getaway location…at least 100 acres of wooded glory.
I’d give lots of money to help animals, both wild and pets.
Maybe I’d buy an island.
I would spend pretty big on education programs. I’m a HUGE believer that education is the driver of future prosperity gains and such. None of these social justice or equity or reparations mean anything if the US education system remains crap, and it’s going to remain crap as long as the govt runs it. Now, I would want to do it in a way that made it sustainable. I don’t want to drop a bunch of money only to watch what I build decay when I run out. Perhaps a large endowment whose interest is enough to fund the operations of various schools with only small token tuition, but limited to people living in zip codes that are economically depressed.
The selfish? I dunno. Hookers as far as the eye could see? Who am I kidding, I’ll invest it. I’m boring.
Buy a house, hire contractors to fix it up.
20$ off the street, I’d put in my pocket and keep walking. Found a $50 last year, woo wee! Millions, I’d buy me a lot of land way away from civilization have a nice cabin and live as self sufficient as possible. Also I’d give a boat load of money to the cancer kids at a certain cancer center for said kids that I can’t say because it may be considered spam.
