What popular (old school) musical bands/groups and or singers do you not like?

Never really liked Jethro Tull

Country pop is totally out.

Never been a big fan of Led Zeppelin.

Never liked Bob Dylan. All of his songs sound the same.

I never liked any of them enough to go out of my way to listen to them.

The Rolling Stones.

I always thought Neil Young and Bob Dylan were overrated. Wonderful writers, but their voices were intolerably bad. Guns n Roses was a good suggestion. Really the ENTIRE Seattle grunge scene was just….awful. I think there was ONE of them I kind of liked.

With a couple key exceptions, I never liked U2. Not necessarily for the music, I just found Bono to be a pretentious twat.

@Dig_Dug – Sorry, I watch alot of British and Australian TV, and the word isn’t considered as vile there as it is in the US, and I guess I’m picking up the lingo a bit. I still don’t use the 4-letter C word, but in Australia it seems to be polite discourse. :)

Never cared much for 38special, or U2.

U2. I still haven’t found what I’m looking for when it comes to them.

As a musician I can honestly say that I respect all musicians art. If I don’t like it, I don’t listen to it.

@Forever_Free I agree as a fellow human being with Eddie’s opinion that this is a subjective subject and opinion based. Which is why it is in the social category and asking “what do you not like” etc. This is in no way to be considered a serious question, simply an opinion. Only curious since the majority of the masses drool over some music that I find unappealing to say the least. But again that does not mean anything to anyone else, simply personal preference. I welcome differing opinions, makes the world go around. How boring it would be if everyone was exactly the same.

Queen was overrated. So was Van Halen. Every time I hear Van Halen I want to JUMP! out of my skin.

I always thought ELO was worthy of all the late night Saturday night appearances on Don Kushner’s Rock Concert.

I was never a fan of Queen or Janis Joplin. I’m 50/50 with the Beatles. I like their early music but that’s it.

The big ones I don’t care for are The Beatles and Queen.

I also am not a fan of Jethro Tull or Bob Dylan.

I loved the first two Van Halen albums but after that, when they got more soft, more pop-rock-ish, I didn’t care for them with their synthesized sound. When I watched a documentary about Van Halen, David Lee Roth wanted to keep their rock sound whereas Eddie wanted to go more the synthesizer route, and since the band was essentially Eddie’s and his brother’s (hence the name “Van Halen”)) they had their way and Dave left the group. I liked a few Van Halen songs when they went the popular route, after Dave but to me, the best VH was the VH in the beginning (“Ain’t Talkin ‘Bout Love” and stuff like that).

I never did care for the Grateful Dead or the Mamas and the Papas. I guess I could throw Jimmy Hendrix into that mix. Not bad music, really, but I can only really take it in small doses spread out over a long period of time.
