Not as rich, but certainly has the flavor. I would describe it as halfway between Maine lobster and prawns.

The only correct answer is Zatarain’s.

They taste just like shrimp.

If I remember right, they don’t have a strong flavor, but I agree with @zenvelo – there’s definitely a lobster-esque flavor with a hint of shrimp. They’re fun to eat if you don’t mind peeling them…kind of like fondue, it’s an experience, not just a stuff your mouth and go.

Never tried it.

Fresh water lobster? I haven’t tried it.

Trying to figure how to get any meat out of one.

The word is PEAL, not PILL!!

Pull the tail off and pull the meat out of the tail. I don’t recommend “sucking the heads”

The one time I had it, the flavor was something like shrimp, and the meat was mushy. I suspect they may have been frozen before cooking.

And the word is PEEL, not PEAL.

Dutchess_III's avatar

It is not PEEL! Oh hell.

You’re right Teds.

A combination of shrimp and crab, slightly salty, a little sweet, and have a bit of mineral flavor.
