In “Inside Job”, they created a robot to secretly replace the president.

That sounds like Philip K Dick territory. I’m sure he’s written at least one story that includes an AI president.

You could go back to Isaac Asimov’s I ROBOT. It tracked the fictional rise of robots from clunky children’s toys to a creation that ran for and won president of the world.
