Why is the inside of my car still dry?
Apparently I forgot to close my car window about 5 days ago.
I left it about half open. Then we got about 2” of rain, mostly last night.
Even though there is no overhead cover to shield the interior, the inside is completely dry.

The open window was on the downwind side of the car from the rain. Or you were parked sideways on a hill.
Please don’t forget to close the windows on your car. Cats can get in there and pee all over everything!! Mucho stinko!
I’m with @Jeruba on it being wind direction. And realize with a half closed window, even if there was no wind, there is a slight lip on the window. It’s well within possibility that the open bit was slightly under the lip and any drops that missed the lip hit the glass.
But we weren’t there, so we’re guessing.
It’s kind of like what was supposed to happen at the Capital on January 6.
The rain doesn’t belong in your car. Even though there was an open window, the drops respected that it was not supposed to go inside for obvious reasons.
Answer: Common Sense
A better question to satisfy my curiosity:
Why are you questioning something serendipitous?
It must be the way the wind was blowing.
Even if the open window was in the downwind direction I think the car might still have got wet inside due to air turbulence. I’m guessing there was little or no wind on those days and nights.
Oh, I get it, The car was on it’s side and the open window was facing the ground.
WINER!!!
