Have you given donations you had no idea you were making?

Not that I know of! But I would follow up on that if I were you.

Up until the program was cancelled a couple of months ago Amazon donated 0.5% of your purchases to the charity of your choice under the Amazon Smile program. I would get a notice quarterly stating how many dollars were donated to the cause by my purchases.

Since I am also on the Board of that particular charity I was also able to check if Amazon really did transfer the funds. They did. They were honest to the penny – even rounding up!

@jca2 Not a scam I think. I really don’t scrutinize apps but now I did and apparently I’ve been doing it since 2017. Can’t remember if I checked a box agreeing to the donation. But Lyft has other organizations listed and you can choose which one gets the donation.
