What are the advantages Disney has regarding Reedy Creek compared to other businesses in Florida?

I’ve seen quotes of DeSantis stating that it isn’t fair that a business should have an advantage over another due to a special district designation.
What exactly are the specifics of the unfair advantage?
I live in The Villages (TV) in Florida, which is a special district, and for the life of me I can’t find much difference between where I live and Disney, except the year TV special district was created.
Obviously, some of this is just politics, but I’m interested in any possible valid arguments. Also, from a legal standpoint can Disney argue other special districts need to be dismantled if Reedy Creek is taken away?

What I don’t get about the whole thing is that DeSantis obviously knows Florida and yet he doesn’t seem to realize or just doesn’t care that probably 30% of the Florida economy comes from WDW and all the people who come there and stay in hotels (in and out of Disney property), eat in restaurants all over the state in their travels to WDW, buy souvenirs and snacks and go other places in Florida as a secondary stop because they’re there for WDW. Even Walmarts in central Florida have WDW sourvenirs and merch. DeSantis is involved in this pissing contest with Disney World and yet he is biting the hand that feeds him.
@jca2 That part of it is insane and playing with fire. That any politician goes after the Mouse is somewhat shocking.
When I was researching about our new fast train in Florida, Brightline, I read that DeSantis was in bed with Universal. If that is true, that might be part of the politics, that he is cozying up to Universal. I am assuming Universal donates big to his campaign, and probably many of his faithful individual tithers donate every time he calls Disney woke.
He will be out in two years and the new governor can get rid of this threat. I think Florida limits two terms in a row, but does not have a lifetime limit, so he could take a term off and run again if I am right.
@JLeslie maybe too late in tow years; the Mouse could leave by than ! !
The Mouse could leave? Lol. How would that work?
Not well for Florida or DeSantis !
DeSantis is PISSED at WDW and would love to put them out of business because of their support for LGBTIQA+ !
Figure out what that might do to your Taxes in Florida @JLeslie !
^^The mouse can’t leave Florida! Have you been to DisneyWorld? It’s 4 massive theme parks plus 2 water parks. He can’t put Disney out of business. Disney has been mobbed this past year.
Disney just announced plans to build more cabins in Fort Wilderness.
Disney just opened up more annual pass choices, including for out-of-state. If their reservations were dropping a little, opening the annual passes will give them a lift.
DeSantis seems to want to control Disney. It’s ridiculous. A ton of Disney employees are gay.
Now Disney World is suing Florida because the DeSantis crap is hurting their business. I was thinking, I am not sure how many employees WDW has in Florida but all those employees can be potential votes for DeSantis’ opposition, next time there is a race for Florida governor.
